Back for its fifth year, the weekend-long Connect with Culture Days invites the community to discover arts, science and history through free experiences across Mecklenburg County. View the full schedule of events here. 

 

Charlotte Ballet’s Innovative Works
January 25 – February 16 | The Patricia McBride & Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance

In a creative collaboration between choreographers and Charlotte-area Shakespeare experts, the works of William Shakespeare come to life through in Charlotte Ballet’s Innovative Works. Your tickets include a dessert reception with the dancers and artistic staff following the show. $25 – $80 tickets.

 

Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dances
January 25 – 26 | Knight Theater

 

Lukáš Vondráček joins conductor Christopher Warren-Green for a performance of Prokofiev’s piano concerto, a complement to Rachmaninoff’s final work, and an orchestral”foxtrot” from contemporary composer John Adams.

 

Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week®

Opera Carolina’s “Carmen”

Carmen’s free spirit and gypsy ways made her a feminist heroine and the focus of an opera recognized as the most famous of all time. In fact, it’s likely you’ll recognize the music from shows, movies and commercials even if you’ve never seen the show. Tickets start at $22.

Hands-on Mixology Class – Gin Masterclass

In this gin masterclass, explore gin’s history and categories plus get step-by-step tips for recreating iconic cocktails at home. Attendees get hands-on instruction, three full-size cocktails and light bites. $75 per person.
