What to Wear to Work in Charlotte. It’s a question we’re asked often, and no surprise there. We work in a mostly corporate town, which adds a layer of challenge to the style question women who work anywhere have to ask themselves daily. It’s particularly tricky if you want to project not just a professional image but also your own personal sense of style & fashion identity.
We grabbed Lauren Schwaiger, local realtor and QC Influencer, to shop with us at Paul Simon Women in Southpark, where they specialize in dressing Charlotte’s corporate heavy hitters with style & flair. Store stylist Sherrard Georgius helped style Lauren with looks that fit both her personality and her professional needs. As a realtor / broker, Lauren must transition from buttoned-up to casual to braving the elements while showing houses, sometimes all in the same day. PSW outfitted her for it all.
For our first look for Lauren, Sherrard (who’s been styling women at PSW for over 20 years, although she must have started in high school) picked a neutral and universal khaki dress by Kai Rieman, and punched it up with a waist cinching obi belt by Lafayette 148, and some chic modern accessories.
Every realtor needs a cute raincoat and we all loved this one by Nina McLemore on Lauren. Red is a neutral, whether you realize that or not!
Remember that red is a neutral? How adorable are these red jeans by Parker Smith? To wear on your casual days, or with a jacket, with cute blouse and bag by local LKN manufacturer BEK BAGS.
For work to dinner, you can’t beat an LBD. Dress it up or down with accessories and cover your arms with a cardigan or jacket for the office.
Our final Look is the most “corporate” Sherrard styled for Lauren, with a blazer by Bailey 44 topping off a pencil skirt and classic white blouse. The bag from Primaura adds a little edge, and the necklace by The Woods adds elegance.
