If you’re like many other Charlotteans, Vivace is a favorite spot for elegant, upscale Italian dining in a sleek, modern setting. Now south Charlotte pasta lovers can rejoice because the owners of Vivace have opened a new Italian restaurant, Civetta, in the Stonecrest shopping center on Rea Road.
Civetta opened its doors in February and has received rave reviews on Ballantye Connection and Yelp. Originally open just for dinner, Civetta is now open for lunch as well. General Manager, Kyle Huffer says they expect to start serving brunch in the near future as well.
While Civetta offers some similar menu items to Vivace, and also boasts pastas and sauces made in-house, it certainly has it’s own unique vibe. Where Vivace is contemporary and polished, Civetta is cozy and a bit more casual. The brick accents and red booths invite you in and beg you to stay to fill your belly.
As for them menu, you’ll can expect some time-honored Italian dishes like Eggplant Parmesan, Veal Marsala and Tiramisu, as well as some unexpected flavors like the Smoked Chicken Ravioli with sun-dried tomatoes, crispy pancetta, mushroom conserva, and madeira cream sauce.
Along with their affordable, yet delicious, food and wine, Civetta boasts a a mouth-watering craft cocktail list. Look for the new Elderflower Mule, coming to the menu soon, which includes Social House Vodka, St. Elder Elderflower liquor, lemon, mint and ginger beer.
The space is expansive and includes a private room for 10 people as well as a patio space which will be open for seating in the Spring. The bar is also undergoing some configuration changes that will bring approximately 10% more seating.
Bonus: Look for Bar Marcel, coming in 2019 in South Park, for another soon-to-be favorite from Urban Food Group.
