Charlotte SHOUT
April 29 – May 11

This first ever, biggest ever QC festival Uptown wraps up this week. Here are our picks on the best things to do at SHOUT this week, including the openings of both the Prismatica and Entre les Rangs installations, sky high aerial dancers and the headliner music.

Mother’s Day Weekend at the Garden
May 10 – 11 | Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden

Mother’s Day at the garden is worthy of a two-day celebration. In addition to strolling the gardens, moms and their families can shop local vendors, do arts and crafts, enjoy lunch from a food truck, listen to live music and more. Don’t miss the wine walk from 12 – 3 p.m. on Saturday. The first 250 mothers admitted each day beginning at 9 a.m. will receive a free potted plant courtesy of Rountree Plantation Garden Center.

End-to-End 
May 10 – 11 | Camp North End 

Make plans to attend this free part symposium, part art exhibition, part immersive music and part art installation. In celebration of the creative process, expect a tech symposium, pop-up foodie events, a Goodyear Arts showcase, immersive installations and more.

Fresh Works
May 9 – 10 | Art House Charlotte 

Shop beautiful, original work from more than 20 local artists at Art House Charlotte’s Fresh Works. Designers welcome.

THURSDAY

Purple Arts-Help Fight Pancreatic Cancer
Napa on Providence | 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Distillery Pairing at the Market

Colonial Gem 2019

Mixology with Bob Peters: The Joys of Mezcal
Earl’s Grocery | 2:30 p.m.

One of the city’s leading mixologists leads this exploration of cocktails made with mezcal, focusing on three brands: Mezcal Creyente, Ilegal Mezcal, and Montelobos Mezcal. Admission is free but seating is limited.

Annual Mega Rosé Tasting at Dilworth
Foxcroft Wine Co-Dilworth | 1 – 4 p.m.

Dilworth’s Foxcroft Wine Co. location will be pouring curated selection of more than 40 rosé wines at this “mega-tasting”. There will also be light Mediterranean fare. $30 in advance, $35 at the door.

Big Al’s 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil
Sycamore Brewing | 12 – 10 p.m.

Help raise awareness and fight the stigma surrounding mental illness at Big Al’s 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil. Ticket price includes crawfish, jambalaya and live jazz by Keenan McKenzie Music. Proceeds support the Charlotte-based HopeWay Foundation, the only mental health treatment center of its kind in the region.

QC Sip and Shop
The Unknown Brewing Company | 1:30 – 5:30 p.m.

In addition to shopping more than 30 vendors, enjoy live music, food trucks and of course, plenty of beer.

3rd Annual Memory Gala

Help raise awareness and funding for the Alzheimer’s Association with a gala including a cocktail hour, a seated dinner, dancing, musical entertainment, wine pull and silent and live auctions.

5th Annual Teal Diva 5k for Ovarian and Other Gyn Cancers
NASCAR Hall of Fame | 9:30 a.m.

Lace up for the fifth annual Teal Diva 5K. Teal costumes, wigs and tutu’s are encouraged as the organization aims to raise awareness and funding for more research initiatives dedicated to ovarian and other gynecologic cancers.

Mother’s Day Bazaar
Heist Brewery and Barrel Arts | 11 a.m.

Shop local vendors and enjoy live music at this day-long bazaar. There will also be giveaways and drink specials: expect $5 mimosas, $5 beer-mosas and $2 off any glass of regular or sparkling wine.
