Angeline’s Tour of Italy
August 8 – 11 | Angeline’s Charlotte | 5 p.m. daily

Take a tour of Italy this weekend without leaving Uptown. Enjoy a regional tour of Italy at Angeline’s, where chefs will pair wines and iconic dishes from different Italian dishes. Available daily starting at 5 p.m.

The Band’s Visit 
August 6 – 25 | Knight Theater 

This 10-time Tony Award-winning musical makes a stop at the Knight Theater August 6-25. Tickets start at $25.

THURSDAY

Warm Summer Breezes and French Wines and Cheeses
POPLAR – Tapas Restaurant & Bar | 6:30 – 8 p.m.

POPLAR Tapas Restaurant & Bar will host a tasting of five French wines, including their crémant rosé, alongside Chef Trevor’s house-made paté and six cheeses chosen by Rachel Klebaur, owner of Orrman’s Cheese Shop. $35 per person, includes wines, cheeses, tax and gratuity.

Hand-Painted Jacks with Inslee
Jack Rogers SouthPark | 1 – 3 p.m.

Artist Inslee Fariss will be adding her whimsical touch to Jack Roger shoes this weekend at SouthPark Mall. Choose from six designs, then pick your sandal color and paint color for a customized style.

Beerly Funny Comedy Show – Free Monthly Showcase
Bold Missy Brewery | 7:30 p.m.

The next edition of this free monthly comedy show features Greensboro’s Eric Trundy, as well as comedians Ryan Bender, Patti Leigh, Glen Lurie, Melyssa Ryan, and Bo Alambis with host Lauren Ashley.

WFAEats: A Food Tasting Event
Charlotte Museum of History | 6 – 8 p.m.

At “WFAEats”, restaurants, caterers and food purveyors will serve samples of their best dish or beverage in one bite or one sip samples before guests vote for their favorites. Proceeds will benefit WFAE’s award-winning local news and “Charlotte Talks.” See all food and drink participants here.

Kombucha Homebrew Class
Resident Culture Brewing Company | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Learn how to brew your own kombucha at home with the help of owner and co-founder of UpDog Kombucha, Olivia Wolff. You’ll get in-depth instruction and a starter kit with all the essentials. $25 per person, includes a beverage of your choice.

Mama Presents: Here Today, Gone Tomato
Mama Ricotta’s Restaurant | 6:30 p.m.

Chefs Tom and Paul go off the menu as they create a menu celebrating summer’s favorite fruit, the tomato. Each course will be paired with an Italian wine by Vinnie Delillo, Mama Ricotta’s managing somm. $50 per guest.

FRIDAY

Chef’s Best presented by Harris Teeter with Chef Robert Irvine
Charlotte Convention Center | 6 – 9 p.m.

The 30th annual Chef’s Best will include a reception highlighting some of Charlotte’s hottest restaurants (The Asbury, WP Kitchen + Bar and ROOTS Cafè / ROOTS Catering), followed by a three-course meal crafted by celebrity Chef Chef Robert Irvine, wine pairings, a live auction and music. Benefits Second Harvest Food Bank.

Summer Citrus Arrangement Class
Charlotte Flower Market | 6 – 7 p.m.

Master Designer Tammy will lead this hands-on class where you’ll use hydrangea, stock, lavender roses, spray roses, dusty miller, orange slices and silver dollar eucalyptus to make your own summer citrus arrangement. You’ll also learn the best ways to care for flowers and best practices for cutting and prepping. $40+.

Evening Market at Armored Cow Brewing
Armored Cow Brewing Co. | 5 – 9 p.m.

Shop local artists and vendors at the next Starving Artist Market. The evening also include live music, gluten free beer options and three food trucks on site.

John Mayer
Spectrum Center | 7:30 p.m.

Art After Dark
Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture | 6 – 10 p.m.

The next Art After Dark will celebrate Art as Activism, commemorating Black August and the 400th anniversary of the arrival of enslaved Africans to North America. Celebrate the rich history of the African-American community with art-making, panel discussions, creative innovation and more. Free admission.

Cheese & Cider Pairing
Red Clay Ciderworks | 7 – 8:30 p.m.

Red Clay Ciderworks’ cider-maker Jay Bradish and Orrman’s Cheese Shop’s Rachel Klebaur will team up to offer four different cider and cheese pairings. $19 per person.

Bacon & Beer Flight Night
The Unknown Brewing Company | 3 – 11 p.m.

Can you think of a more perfect pairing? Enjoy four different bacon varieties paired with a flight of four Unknown beers. Available from 3 p.m. while supplies last.

SATURDAY

LoSo Block Party
The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery | 2 – 11 p.m.

LoSo’s 4th Annual Block Party is a day complete with live music, local vendors, food and plenty of beverages from participating businesses. See here for all participants and the full schedule of events.

Pilot Brewing’s Anniversary Party
Pilot Brewing | 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Pilot Brewing is celebrating one year in business with five new beer releases, live music by Bottle of Smoke, a charity bake sale, special anniversary glassware, a food truck and more.

Bearden Music Series
Romare Beraten Park | 6 – 9 p.m.

Head Uptown for the next edition of this free music series in the park. Blues artists Eric Gales w/ special guest, Mr. Sipp ” The Mississippi Blues Child” will take the stage at Romare Bearden Park. Food and beverage available for purchase on site.

Latin American Street Food Fest
Sycamore Brewing | 12 – 10 p.m.

Bring your appetite to Sycamore this Saturday, as they host authentic Latin American food trucks Chef Ray’s Cuban Cuisine, Grumpy Grandpa and Chimi Spot Dominican Cuisine. Also expect beer, cider and frosé from Sycamore, as well as live music by Brent Cates Music and Hunter’s Travesty.

August Starving Artist Market
Catawba Brewing Company – Charlotte | 1 – 6 p.m.

Shop photography, jewelry, paintings, wood-working, food products, candles, bath and body products and more. View all participating vendors here. The popular Cousins Maine Lobster food truck will also be on site.

Sour Grapes Wine Dinner
Not Just Coffee – Dilworth | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Pumking Release Party
Brewers at 4001 Yancey | 1 – 10 p.m.

Fall is (almost) officially back in the Queen City! Celebrate the return of Pumking at Brewers at 4001 Yancey with live music by Nectar, Pumking flights and Pumking sampling.

Queen City Jazz Collective
Stage Door Theater | 5 and 7:30 p.m.

The Queen City Jazz Collective will take the stage at Stage Door Theater on Sunday, offering a great way to wind down your weekend with some smooth jazz. Tickets start at $25.
