Foxcroft Wine Co. Waverly – Now Open

Foxcroft Wine Co. soft opened their third Charlotte-area location in south Charlotte’s popular Waverly development. Find them at 7416 Waverly Walk Avenue Suite H-1. 

Ace No. 3 – Opening Nov. 5

Opening on November 5 in the Belmont neighborhood, Ace No.3 will offer shakes, beer and burgers, including the classic ACE with a double patty, two slices of American cheese, house made pickles, onions and comeback sauce. Find them at 1001 Belmont Ave.

North Italia – Opening Nov. 13

North Italia will open as part of South End’s RailYard mixed-use development on November 13. Expect a stunning interior and patio, and menu offerings including chef’s daily choice pizza, pasta made from scratch, weekend brunch and happy hour specials. Find them at 1414 S Tryon St. Suite 140.

Volo Ristorante – Opening this month

Coming soon to the heart of Myers Park, Volo Ristorante will serve Italian small plates in trios for an ever-evolving culinary experience: one from the garden, one from the pasture and one from the sea. Pair them with complementary wines coordinated by Volo’s chef and in-house sommelier.

Indaco Charlotte

As part of Atherton’s new mixed-use development in South End, Indaco will offer rustic Italian fare including wood-fired pizzas, pastas, cured meats and more. Find them soon at 2046 South Blvd.

The Improper Pig Rea Farms – Now open

Barbecue lovers in South Charlotte can now enjoy The Improper Pig’s classic and distinctive takes on Southern fare. Guest favorites include traditional pulled pork and St. Louis-style ribs, which share a menu with globally-inspired flavors like Korean barbecue salmon and Thai and hoisin sauces. Closings in Plaza Midwood

Sadly, late October saw the close of two Plaza Midwood spots. The beloved Dairy Queen on Central Avenue closed after almost 70 years in business. Sushi Guru, also in Plaza Midwood, shuttered its doors after less than two years. UPDATE 11/5 Sushi Guru has also closed its SouthPark location.

International Sherry Week at Fin & Fino
November 4-10

Dogwood’s 5-year Anniversary

Fin & Fino Announces New Executive Chef

Fin & Fino has named Dominic Cerasaro as executive chef of the “social seafood house” located in Uptown Charlotte. Chef Dom has been on the team of Rare Roots Hospitality Group for more than three years, working in the kitchens of Fin & Fino, Dogwood, and The Porter’s House.

Angeline’s and Merchant & Trade Team up for Charity

Angeline’s and Merchant & Trade will both offer special Friendsgiving menus from November 14-30 in support of charitable partner No Kid Hungry. On these dates, Merchant & Trade will donate $1 from each Wild Turkey Whiskey Flights sold, and Angeline’s will offer a family-style three-course dinner and donate 10% of the proceeds.

Uptown’s new hotspot Cicchetti isn’t just a wine bar and destination for Italian fare, it’s also a retail wine shop with more than 400 selections.

Fahrenheit’s Fall Menu Additions

Head up to Fahrenheit to try their newest menu additions, including the Washed Ashore Cocktail crafted with Kirk & Sweeney 12 year rum, West Indian orange bitters, angostura bitters, Aztec chocolate bitters, cinnamon syrup and a torched cinnamon stick. From the food menu, a popular choice are the Grilled Maine Diver Sea Scallops with Parsnip Puree, Roasted Roots, and Salsa Verde.

Dogwood Launches Bar Menu 

Grab a seat at the bar, a cocktail and get ready to enjoy Dogwood’s new curated selection of entrees and small plates on the bar menu. Options include beer mussels (cherry stout, country ham, grilled bread), steak frites (anger steak, house jus), scallops (mushroom risotto, duck marmalade), brisket slider (smoked brisket, bourbon BBQ, house pickles) and fried green tomatoes (whipped goat cheese, chow-chow). Offered in the bar area during dinner service Sunday – Wednesday 5pm – 9pm and Thursday – Saturday 5pm – close.
