Restaurant Openings, Closings, $4 Sushi & More Charlotte Food News This Week

Thanksgiving may get all the attention this time of year (if you haven’t made plans yet, here’s your resource) but we know there’s still plenty of culinary news to cover around the Queen City. From openings to new menu offerings, here’s the food news you need to know for the rest of November 2019.

NEW & NOTEWORTHY

Indaco Charlotte – Open now

As part of Atherton’s new mixed-use development in South End, Indaco offers rustic Italian fare including wood-fired pizzas, pastas, cured meats and more. Brought to us by the restaurant group that also owns O-Ku, Oak Steakhouse and Sukoshi, you’ll find Indaco in Atherton Mill at 2046 South Blvd.

North Italia – Open now

Coming soon to the heart of Myers Park, Volo Ristorante will serve Italian small plates in trios for an ever-evolving culinary experience: one from the garden, one from the pasture and one from the sea. Pair them with complementary wines coordinated by Volo’s chef and in-house sommelier. They’ll open November 18-21 with a limited menu and on November 22 with their full menu.

Link & Pin – Opening soon

From the owners of Duckworth’s, this gastropub with a culinary focus is in its soft opening phases in South End. Expect a cozy, rustic environment with a bar, lunch and dinner menus and brunch on weekends. View the full menu here. Find them at 155 New Bern St.

Ava – Opening soon

Coming soon to Optimist Hall, Ava will offer handmade pasta and Neapolitan pizza cooked at 900 degrees in an authentic Italian-made pizza oven.

Dressler’s Restaurant renovating Metropolitan location

Dressler’s will close Sunday 11/24 for the week of Thanksgiving to complete renovations on the dining room, bar, and private dining spaces. Reopening is tentatively set for Saturday 11/30.

Restaurant Closings

Sadly, we’ve also seen some recent restaurant closings. Art’s BBQ in Dilworth is set to close at the end of the month after more than 40 years in business. In addition, both the Ballantyne and SouthPark locations of Terrace Cafe have closed this month. Nova’s Bakery in South End also announced its closing, although their other locations in Plaza Midwood, Mint Hill and Rock Hill will remain open.
