All the Scoop on the Interior Designer Showhouses Opening Soon

This March brings the QC area some of our first Designer Showhouses to be toured and visited in what seems like forever. The Interior Design Society of Charlotte is presenting three Charity Showhouses this March at The Preserve at Narrow Passage in Davidson. Proceeds from the Showhouses benefit Motor Racing Outreach in conjunction with The Dale Jr. Foundation, The Hendrick Family Foundation, and Southern Living Magazine’s charity of choice, Operation Finally Home.

The Showhouses

We found out a bit about what you’ll see when you tour the homes but there’s no question that you’ll want to schedule time on your calendar to go for a tour yourself, or better yet, attend their big Gala on March 13.

The Showhouses are three homes each valued at $1.6 million + which represent three different styles: Modern Resort, Modern Manor, Modern Farmhouse. Chris Hoffman of Southern Cottage Corporation, Karl Plattner of Plattner Custom Builders LLC. and Ken Wrench of Augusta Homes Inc. are the builders presenting the homes. Here’s the scoop on each one:

The Modern Resort House

  • Exterior Color – Iron Ore.  You walk in the front door and the foyer takes you into an immediate resort feel with the pool and sauna right beyond wide glass doors.  The home is meant for easy entertaining and an inside outside feel. This home is the Southern Living Showcase Home by Southern Cottage Corporation. Details:
    • The exterior is dark, but you enter in a bright, indoor/outdoor foyer that leads seamlessly to the pool and the woodland beyond. Natural, textural elements layered against polished refinement. Bringing the outside in. Taking the inside out.  Straight, clean lines intersect with natural, organic contours.  Eliminating the whimsy of circles and scrolls.
    • Every room has a conservation element.
    • Colors of Origami, Navy, Teal and Pink wind throughout the home.  And 19 wallpapers to define spaces.
    • The Baths are all luxurious and surprising.

    • A bit of sparkle and drama is found in the manor home.
    • Interesting nooks and crannies give way to a sparkling butler’s pantry and a perfect party.
