Visit The Southern Pecan, new in SouthPark

Make plans to dine out at The Southern Pecan, a new addition to Phillips Place in SouthPark. Expect a menu brimming with Gulf Coast cuisine classics like Louisiana BBQ shrimp, a selection of po boys, gulf oysters and a southern pecan shrimp boil, plus blues and jazz-inspired artwork and music. BackStage Lounge Re-opening Oct. 15

In South End, the BackStage Lounge is re-opening on Thursday, Oct. 15 with some new changes. Expect brand new food and drink menus, focused on small plates and hand-crafted cocktails. Memberships are no longer required. Find them behind SouthBound at 2433 South Blvd.

New Coffee Offering from HEX Coffee Roasters

HEX COFFEE PHOTOS

HEX Coffee Roasters, the Camp North End roastery and coffee shop, will launch a special coffee on Oct. 16 in collaboration with Charlotte artist Saloan Goodwin. The coffee is an Ethiopian Natural coffee from the Rogicha hamlet in Guji, Ethiopia. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the release will benefit HEAL Charlotte and their goal to raise $10M to provide accessible and affordable housing in Charlotte. Rogicha is $19.75 for a 10oz box, and will be available online and at select retailers across the country, including the roastery at 1824 Statesville Ave. Suite, 101, Charlotte. 

Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend

The reimagined Charlotte Wine + Food Week presented by Truist includes a week-long virtual auction (open to the public for the first time), socially distant restaurant vintner dinners, a Friday virtual happy hour tasting, and a virtual gala featuring Napa Valley winemaker Julien Fayard in discussion with Master Sommelier Desmond Echavarrie of Scale Wine Group.

David Burke’s Salty Balls Campaign
Oct. 14 | Around CLT

Celebrity chef David Burke, known for recently opening Red Salt and Cloud Bar in the Le Méridien hotel, will launch the Salty Balls campaign, where team members will distribute 500 numbered Himalayan salt balls across the city which correspond to a prize, including the grand prize of a trip for two to New York City, a Staycation Package at Le Méridien, private dinners with the opportunity to cook with chef Burke and more. Why the salt balls? It’s a nod to chef Burke’s patented Himalayan sea-salt dry aging technique, which you can experience at Burke’s restaurants. Follow along on social media to find team members aat one of six public locations starting at 11 a.m. on Oct. 14.

Revive the Vibe: A Benefit Concert to Support Local Artists
Oct. 17 | The Square at Spirit Square

Help “Revive the Vibe” in Uptown and raise funds to support local artists as musicians take the stage in a day full of back-to-back concerts at The Square at Spirit Square and the adjacent Victoria Yards (corner of 7th and Tryon). Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to donate to the artist gig fund.

Barrington’s Restaurant 20th Anniversary

Barrington’s Restaurant will celebrate its 20th anniversary on October 15. As part of the celebration, Barrington’s will roll back prices on the pan-roasted chicken and chocolate pudding cake to reflect the original menu from 2000 from October 16 to 24. Fall Carnival Kids Night Out
