CHANGES: Re-Opening, Moving, Hibernating

Moving

BORIS + NATASHA is moving soon, leaving their long time Thomas Avenue location for a new spot on The Plaza next to Tip Top Market. Owner Hope Nicholls is a fixture in QC fashion & style, and has been for over 20 years. The new location is expected to open at in a week or so. Charlotte Agenda reports in an email this week that Hope decided to move based on “a need for more sustainable rent and more diverse neighbors — two traits that first drew her to Plaza Midwood years ago.”

Opening

ICYMI Gucci opened in SouthPark Mall right before Christmas.

The Park Road Shopping Center Harris Teeter opens this week, on Wednesday, January 13 at 8 am after a year long renovation. Expect some of the perks you find at HT’s larger stores, like a beer and wine bar, store made burgers, pizza, and fresh sushi, but no Sbux or pharmacy. They’re celebrating the opening with a VIC member giveaway where every 100th VIC card customer will receive an instant coupon valid for free groceries in the amount of their transaction, up to $500 (exclusions apply of course).

Hibernating

We saw this term online and think it fits a few of the temporary / indefinite closings we’ve seen over the past month. Local businesses who cannot justify remaining open until their customers can return in full force, but who are also not yet prepared to give up shop completely.

• CLT Find closed their spot at 7th Street Market for the time being, although they are still selling via their IG with porch pick up and shipping.
• The Daily Details suspended operations at their Uptown location until further notice on January 1st.
