An Opening to Watch

Michelle Castelloe, founder of Moxie Mercantile, is opening a new sister store called Betty by Moxie Mercantile, located at 1219 Thomas Ave., a block away from the original boutique. Betty will feature kids, apparel and accessories and aims for a September opening.

Betty is inspired by and named after Betty Ziegler Mims, the former owner of Bride’s House of Originals, which was homed in Moxie’s Plaza Midwood location. The new retail shop will span more than 2,500 square feet and includes family friendly spaces, such as a  patio area for cafe tables and chairs and a kid friendly (encouraged) chalkboard wall.  The new shop will showcase local vendors including Peterson Made, CB Studio, and Twenty Two West, continuing with a focus on female and women-owned companies.
