Get to Know Charlotte’s Original Food Hall, The Market at 7th Street

7th Street Public Market is Now
“The Market at 7th Street”

It may have a new name twist, a new website, some new tenants, and new branding, but its mission is still the same: To kickstart small businesses in Charlotte.

The Market at 7th Street will soon celebrate 10 years as a culinary and retail incubator in the heart of Uptown. Since opening in 2011 as North Carolina’s first food hall, the Market has incubated more than 35 small businesses, including some that have expanded to permanent locations in the city.

“Charlotte has always been a city of industry and ingenuity; the Market at 7th Street puts that ingenuity on display for all to share in,” says Chris Clouden, executive director of the Market. “Emerging chefs, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, artisans and makers all have the chance to be a part of this tradition and start their dreams in a safe and supportive environment.”

The Market at 7th Street is home to a variety of food and retail concepts, some of which have been there for years and others which come and go as they test and evaluate the viability of their business as a permanent in-person location.

It’s one of the easiest ways to support local small businesses in town, all under one roof. Find The Market on Instagram here.
