Fine Chocolates
There’s nothing we love more than fine chocolate (and wine), and what’s better than a local chocolatier handcrafting tiny bites of joy? We searched around town and found these shops that are the best when it comes to truffles and chews.
Twenty Degrees Chocolates
1930 Camden Rd Suite 135, Charlotte
One of our favorite spots to grab gourmet chocolate is at Twenty Degrees Chocolates in South End. A must-try for chocolate and caramel lovers is their Fleur de Sel Caramels. Rich and buttery vanilla bean caramel is enrobed in Valrhona 62% dark chocolate and topped with hand-harvested sea salt from the shores of Brittany, France. These caramels are the perfect blend of sweet and salty, rich and chewy — everything we’re looking for.
The Secret Chocolatier
2935 Providence Rd #104, Charlotte
The Secret Chocolatier may not be much of a secret anymore, with retail locations around Charlotte including Harris Teeter, Common Market, Julia’s Cafe & Bookstore and more.
There are so many options to choose from, but we always find something to love on their Chocolate Award Winners list. From Sea Salt Chocolate Butter Toffee, Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie Bites, and Peanut Butter Cups — the list is full of winners and we can see why.
See’s Candies
SouthPark Mall, Charlotte
A classic for chocolate lovers — for over ninety years, See’s Candies has handmade over a hundred varieties of treats. Favorites include truffles and soft chews in flavors like white chocolate mint, dark chocolate butter treat, dark chocolate raspberry cream and more.
Davidson Chocolate Co.
610 Jetton St. #150, Davidson
Handmade, small batched chocolate made from the finest, freshest ingredients is what Davidson Chocolate Company is all about. A little ways from Charlotte but worth the drive, you can find all sorts of treats there, from truffles to confections such as peanut butter cups, chocolate-dipped Oreos, nut clusters, caramels and more.

From handcrafted truffles with innovative flavors (we’re talking flavors such as champagne and chili and honey), to imported and domestic bonbons and fresh chocolate-covered strawberries Chocolat Boutique in Fort Mill has a little something for everyone.

A chocolate lover’s paradise filled with treats of every variety, from turtles to rich truffles to smooth creamy truffles homemade daily. They’re also a go-to for fudge, which they churn out in both classic and unique flavors.
Chocolatier Barrucand

At Chocolatier Barrucand, they know fine ingredients make hand-crafted candies taste that much better. Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel and filled truffles seem to be a big hit.

Go for the Italian fare, stay for their Triple Chocolate Budino with Italian custard, chocolate crunch, espresso chantilly, and chocolate espresso beans. Delicious.
Fine & Fettle
4905 Barclay Downs Dr., Charlotte
Coffeehouse by day, candlelit gastro lounge by night, Fine & Fettle not only has a cozy atmosphere, but delicious food and a creative dessert menu. A must-try for chocolate lovers is the Chocolate Pomegranate Tart with almond cocoa crust, pomegranate reduction, white chocolate crumble. Delicious and pretty enough for an Instagram pic.
Merchant & Trade
303 S Church St., Charlotte
Immaculate Uptown views, craft cocktails, and elevated bar bites is what Merchant & Trade is known for, but if you’re craving something sweet and chocolatey, they have you covered there too. You can’t go wrong with their S’Mores Cheesecake — a chocolate-coated cheesecake with graham cracker chantilly and homemade marshmallows. Delicious.
Fern, Flavors from the Garden
1419 East Blvd Suite A, Charlotte
Known for being one of Charlotte’s go-to spots for vegan and vegetarian dishes Fern, Flavors from the Garden has delicious dessert as well. Try their scumptious vegan, and gluten free peanut butter chocolate cake. You won’t regret it.
McNinch House
511 N Church St, Charlotte
This 1892 Queen Anne-style home of the Victorian Era serves as a restaurant delivering high-end continental fare to the Queen City. Currently on the menu as part of their dessert course is a delicious Chocolate Mousse and Godiva White Chocolate Crème Brulee. Now that’s a great way to end date night.
Mariposa
500 S Tryon St., Charlotte
A new dining experience formerly from Halycon, Mariposa at The Mint is bringing the world together through their dishes, and we can’t get enough. After dinner, don’t skip out on dessert. Instead, order the Single Origin Chocolate Mousse with almond sponge cake, Cordillera dark chocolate mousse, ruby chocolate mousse, white chocolate pearls, and Grand Marnier macerated berries. It’ll leave you coming back for more.
