South End Market at Atherton

Opening details: Open year round, every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Stroll down Atherton in South End where you’ll find local small farmers and artisans gather to bring you fresh produce, meats, seafood, eggs, and a variety of dairy products. Also find garden and bath care products, all locally made.

Open: APRIL 8: Tuesday and Friday 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (exact hours not confirmed for 2022, please stay tuned)

The roadside market that draws crowds all over the area opens for the season on April 8.  As you’re running errands in town or walking along the Greenway, stop at Kings Drive for produce, meat, local jams and all of your gardening needs.  Don’t be intimidated by the parking lots, you can usually get in and out fairly easily.

Charlotte Regional Farmers Market

Opening details: Open for spring/summer season May 1, Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 12 – 6 p.m.

One of four state-operated farmer’s markets managed by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, this market boasts a friendly spot to purchase fresh produce, meats, cheeses, plus flowers and plants.

North End Farmers’ Market

Opening details: Season begins April 6 and runs every Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Located in Camp North End, this late afternoon/ evening market provides all who visit local produce, proteins, artisanal food, and select crafters.

Mecklenburg County Market

Opening details: Open year-round, weekdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

Pay a visit to the oldest farmers market in NC dating all the way back to 1937.  Today the Mecklenburg County Market is still running strong and serving up Beverly’s Gourmet Foods, fresh produce, and a large variety of tomatoes year-round.

University City Farmers Market

Opening details: Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning in April through October.

Visit to shop for veggies and fruits, pasture-raised eggs and meats, artisanal food, and natural beauty care products. Also, enjoy live music from local bands and DJs as well as fun arts and crafts for the family.

Plaza Midwood Farmers Market

Cotswold Farmers Market

Opening details: The 2022 market opens May 7 through October 29, and will be open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.

This season will feature local farmers, ranchers, food artisans, provisioners, and crafters.

Rosa Parks Farmers Market
2020 Beatties Ford Rd.

Opening details: Tuesdays from 3-7PM, June to September Tuesdays June – September, 3 – 7 p.m.

Since 2016, the Rosa Parks Farmers Market has been offering locally-grown and seasonal fruits, honey, jams and jellies, baked goods, vegetables and more.

The Bulb Mobile Markets

With their goal being to serve food-insecure neighborhoods in Charlotte and surrounding areas mostly local produce, The Bulb Mobile Market travels up to 30 neighborhoods a month. Partnered with local farmers, backyard gardeners, chefs, credit unions, artists, and other non-profits they are able to get fresh produce while allowing neighbors to choose how much they can afford per item. Not only do they have pop-up markets throughout the week, but they also make home deliveries to those unable to make it every Friday, if you reside within 10 miles of Garinger High School (1100 Eastway Dr.). Everyone is welcome to shop at these markets, though a $5 donation per family is suggested. Visit here for their schedule.

Huntersville Growers Market

Opening details:  May – August, on Tuesdays 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Novant Health, Huntersville and on Saturdays 8 a.m. – noon at Veterans Park at Main & Maxwell.

Since 1999, Huntersville Growers’ Market has been providing the area with locally grown food products. The weekly market is open May through August with lots of kid-friendly events and produce, flowers, and baked goods along with jewelry, plants, and crafts.

The Davidson Farmers Market

Opening details: April 2 – November 19, every Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon.

The 2022 season will feature almost 40 different vendors including fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy, fresh-baked bread, artisanal baked goods, health and beauty products, prepared foods, specialty culinary items, and beverages.

Gastonia Farmers Market

Opening details: Beginning in April, open on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Expect 100% vendor-grown or made vegetables, fruit and more. 

Matthews Community Farmers’ Market
188 North Trade St., Matthews

Union Market
