It’s almost time for one of Charlotte’s favorite fall activites — corn mazes. We searched nearby farms that offer not only the best corn mazes around but also hayrides, pumpkin picking, and more for the whole family.

Rural Hill
Opening day is September 17
Driving Distance: Approximately 25 minutes
A short drive to Huntersville will lead you to getting lost in one of the largest corn mazes in the southeast. Visit this family owned farms seven-acre corn maze starting September 17 through November 5. While you’re there, enjoy a day of fall festivies, ranging from puzzles, hayrides, cornhole, pumpkin picking, and more.
Tickets cost $13 for adult daytime pass, $17 for adult nighttime pass. Children ages 5-12 $9 for daytime pass, $13 for nighttime pass (children ages 4 and under are free).
Country Days Corn Maze
Opening day is September 30
Driving Distance: Approximately 30 minutes
Want to challenge yourself a little extra? Then visit Country Days Corn Maze where you’ll have the option to make it more interactive by adding 10 multiple choice trivia questions throughout the maze. Every post you reach will have a corresponding number to a question, with answers leading you right or left. The trick? Your answer determines if you venture down the right path, or go into the unknown.
For kids 10 and under, a “Little Ears” corn maze will allow them to enjoy going through the maze through the reading of “Spookley the Square Pumpkin”. The experience lasts as long as you’d like, with easy access exit paths throughout the maze.
The Big Maze costs $10 per person, Little Ears Maze $5.
Maze hours are:
Friday: 5 – 10 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunday: 2 – 8 p.m.
Almond Farm
Opening day is TBD
Driving Distance: Approximately 35 minutes
Located in Concord, Almond Farm has three large corn mazes for you to choose from and medium and small mazes for littler ones. Tour the entire farm on a wagon ride, feed animals, zip down to all the fall festivities on the express slide Tannie’s Tunnel Racers, and much more.
Weekday admission is $10, and weekends are $12, with kids 2 and under free. Price subject to change**.

Hall Family Farm
Opening day is September 23
Driving Distance: Approximately 38 minutes
Take a walk through this “Great Train Robbery” themed corn maze at Hall Family Farm beginning September 23 through October 30. The maze, modeled after a train they hope to have running in the farm by next year, requires you tolve the theft and build the map to the two mile trail.
For littler ones, the kids maze theme is “Sir Topham Hat”, and will be around a quarter mile of trails.
While you’re there, take advantage of all the fall season activities they have, such as picking pumpkins, hayrides, have a fall picnic, gem mining, or relax with delicious hot food from the kitchen.
Tickets for the corn maze cost $10 plus tax per person, for ages 3 and up, ages 2 and under are free. Tickets for the kids corn maze cost $2.99 per person, for ages 3 and up, ages 2 and under are free.

Aw Shucks! Farms
Opening day is September 23
Driving Distance: Approximately 43 minutes
Join the community at Aw Shucks! Farms on September 17 for the annual Carolina Corn Fest where they will unveil the 2022 corn maze, along with live music, arts and crafts, and delicious food.
The corn maze will be open to the public September 23 through November 6. Admission to the farm includes access to the corn maze, animal barn, wagon ride, hay bales, and more.
Tickets costs $12 for adults, $10 for kids, 3 and under are free during fall weekends.
Public hours in FALL only:
Fridays: 6 – 11 p.m.
Saturdays: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Patterson Farm
Opening day is September 26
Driving Distance: Approximately 45 minutes
From Monday, September 26 through Friday, November 4, you can get lost in The Maize at Patterson Farm. While you’re there, take part in other fall activities such as visiting the barnyard, playground, visiting the pumpkin patch, and much more. Access to the maze is included in all weekend and weekday afternoon admissions.
Fall Weekend admission is $14 per person (kids under 2 are free) and includes access to all fall activities on the farm. Weekday admission is $12 per person with same access.

Red Wolf Farm
Opening day is October 1
Driving Distance: Approximately 50 minutes
Take a short trip to the beautiful foothills of Maiden, where you’ll find Red Wolf Farm. There, take part in weekend pumpkin patch activities such as a large, “pro-designed” corn maze, hayrides, farm animals, “swim” in corn, and much more.
Admission to the farm is $8 per person, with kids 2 and under free.
The farm is open to the general public on these days: October 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30, Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Shelby Corn Maze
Opening day is September 17
Driving Distance: Approximately 58 minutes
From September 17 through October 30, you and the family can get lost in the 8-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, plus enjoy 40+ attractions to get you in the fall spirit.
Farm admission is $13, ages 3 and up, and includes entry to the corn maze, 18+ courtyard activities, Jumping Pillow, and hayride to pumpkin Patch. Includes 4 activity tickets.
Beginning at dark every Friday and Saturday in October is when the corn maze turns into a haunted maze. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.
