Rowan, an upscale piercing shop, opened two new studios recently, one in South End on Camden and one in SouthPark Mall. Offering piercings by licensed nurses only, with hypo-allergenic premium metals only – 14K solid gold, gold vermeil, gold plating over sterling silver, and sterling silver – and fun selection of fashion ear jewelry. Think of it as a Claire’s for grown ups.
Also, ICYMI, Alexander McQueen opened in SouthPark Mall in December.
The Charlotte Collective in Plaza Midwood announced on IG that they’re closing that location end of January. Here’s their post – please shop them before they go and visit their SE location in the future!
📢 It’s with a heavy heart that we announce our Plaza Midwood store will be closing Sunday, January 29. Across Charlotte, small businesses are facing rent increases that aren’t sustainable for a small business, and we are now part of that sad pattern as well. We absolutely love Plaza Midwood and our customers there, so we are sad to close our flagship location. This was our first home where we started one of the first retail collectives in Charlotte. During our time there, we have helped many small business owners grow their businesses and created a go-to gift store for the neighborhood. As sad as it is to close our Plaza Midwood store, we’re thankful to have our South End location, and we hope you will come shop and support our small businesses there! During our final month open at Plaza Midwood, please stop in and shop with us. We would love to see all your familiar faces that we’ve come to love in the neighborhood. We’ll also be selling our store fixtures there too, so come in and see if there’s anything you need.
