Birkdale on Ice

The Plaza at Birkdale Village has been transformed into a skating rink for you to lace up your skates and glide. Guests will need to book ice skating reservations in advance to ensure a skating time slot. Walk-ups are welcome, but they cannot guarantee you will be able to skate at that time. The first Salty Donut location in Charlotte will be having it’s grand opening this weekend, with giveaways too sweet to miss! New to Charlotte? Wanting to make more friends? Join Charlotte Girls Who Walk and CLT Hikes for a morning hike at the Latta Nature Preserve. You don’t have to be a girl to join this weekend’s gathering, but all other events are for ladies only and are focused on bringing girls together and making lasting friendships. This hike will be a moderate 5.4 mile hike and will take approximately two hours to complete, so plan ahead and bring lots of water! RSVP here.

Three Kings Day/Día De Reyes at VAPA Center

Presented by the Levine Museum of the New South, this celebration welcomes all and is free to attend. Three Kinds Day/Twelfth Night traditionally marks the end of the Christmas season. According to the nativity story, three wise men (Three Kings) visited baby Jesus bearing gifts on this day. This celebration will feature singing and dancing, arts and crafts, storytime, pastorela, the largest Rosca de Reyes (a sweet bread meant to represent a crown) in the Carolinas, and more.

Twelfth Night: Spirits of the Season at The Charlotte Museum of History

Calling all spirit lovers! The Charlotte Museum of History is hosting its annual Twelfth Night event with this year’s theme being Spirits of the Season,” emphasizing North Carolina’s long history of distilling and brewing. Festivities will include tastings from local distillers and brewers, snacks, themed tours of the 1774 Rock House, and a featured lecture about moonshine and bootlegging delivered by Daniel Pierce. Purchase tickets here.
