This week on June 1st, a new Wedding Planning platform launches in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Winston Salem, devised and created by three NC sisters ~ OURDAY, at matchourday.com.
The Backstory
They were three sisters on a mission. After the headache and stress of planning their own weddings, the Khoury sisters, who grew up in eastern North Carolina, knew there was a need in the market for a seamless process to compare and select vendor partners.
The vision for Our Day was born from our own wedding experiences. We could not have succeeded without the flexibility, support, and trust of our vendors. Wedding planning is often fraught with urgency and a lack of transparency. Our mission is to foster collaboration and understanding by building quality relationships between consumers and vendors.
OUR DAY Co-Founders
So many couples struggle with wedding planning. What should be a joyful and exciting time turns into stress and anxiety. After negotiating and agonizing, you finally have your guest list and your date, only to struggle to find and select the right vendors. This is particularly true for those who are new to town, like so many who have settled in Charlotte, or those who want to handle the planning themselves.
My wife Victoria and I started Our Day (with my sisters) after planning our own wedding. We were on a time crunch and were attempting to get multiple quotes from vendors – I was pulling my hair out in the process! There had to be an easier way…but there wasn’t. We saw a need in the market – and Our Day was born!!

What Is Our Day?
Our Day is an innovative web-based platform made for couples to explore, compare, and match with their perfect wedding vendors. Everything needed to book a wedding is on the website one place: you can browse and contact local vendors; stay organized using budgeting and planning tools, keep track of requests and responses. With Our Day’s matching function, couples no longer need to research and contact individual vendors for quotes and information. You’ll set up your profile, select the types of services you are requesting info on, and your requests are matched to the appropriate vendors, who provide you direct quotes to choose from.

How Does Our Day Work?
Couples head to www.matchourday.com and complete a simple questionnaire. You can be at any stage of the planning process, at the very beginning with no firm plans, or well into it and just looking for a few final vendors to complete the day.
Our Day has several options for browsing and selecting vendors: featured vendor highlights; a full list of local vendors with filter functions; and most importantly, the Our Day “matching” function which provides custom connections based on your location, budget, and wedding needs. From a full list of available services (i.e., florist, catering, photography, etc.) you will use their “matching” form to outline your wedding plans, wants, and needs for each vendor category, then post it to the marketplace. Vendors will submit bids to match with your wedding, and you make your choice.
Bryn explains that the goal of Our Day is to increase the ease and accessibility of vendor interactions and relationships with potential customers. Our Day will be open to quality vendors of all sizes, and to consumers of all price ranges. The matching process creates the opportunity for connection with small, budding business owners as well as established local industry leaders. No longer will you have to worry if your budget is ‘big’ enough for certain vendors or not ~ the matching process promotes transparency and right-sizes your options.
