Monarch MarketOpening Nov. 2 Uptown

Monarch Market will open in Uptown November 2 with nine food stalls, one full-service sushi restaurant, and three bars. Expect a collective of local and national food & beverage brands, both new and established, located at 101 North Tryon St. on the ground floor of One Independence Center. Vendors include:

L’Ostrica – Open Nov. 1 in Montford Park

LʼOstrica, a culinary destination designed by owners Eric Ferguson and Cat Carter, will launch their Tasting Menu on Wednesday, November 1, in the Montford neighborhood. The Tasting Menu will feature eight to ten courses that celebrate each season’s particular charms and that highlight the diverse culinary experiences of Ferguson and Carter. In addition to the Tasting Menu, L’Ostrica has a Chef’s Market open Weds thru Sat and a Sunday Supper to round out their initial offering.

STK Steakhouse – Open now in Uptown

STK Steakhouse’s first NC location is now open in Uptown. Expect modern and sophisticated decor, DJs and a second level and patio coming soon.

Bonnie & Clyde’s Lounge – Open now in South Charlotte

Open now in Promenade on Providence, Bonnie & Clyde’s offers a rooftop, bottle service, and a full menu in the lounge that’s perfect for date night or a girls’ night out.

Closing:

  • Paper Plane Deli + Market in Belmont – Be on the lookout for a possible new location in the future.

Just Announced

Sweetgreen‘s first NC locations coming to Uptown

Coming this summer, Sweetgreen in Uptown will be the first of the chain’s locations in North Carolina. Expect a fast-casual approach with salads and bowls.

2023 Wine Festival 
Nov. 2 | Charlotte Art League

Sip and support a great local cause at Hydration Station Foundation’s 2023 Wine Festival. Guests will enjoy more than 100 specially curated domestic and international wines to sample, food dishes from some of the hottest Charlotte restaurants, an art preview and sale by Charlotte Art League, a raffle and more.

Panthers Game Day Cocktail at Church and Union

It’s a cocktail available only on Panthers home game days, the “Salt and Tepper” with tequila, agave, lime, blue curaçao, coconut water.

You can also save before or after the upcoming performance of The Wiz from NOV 7 – 12, 2023 at the Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center – where Church and Union will offer 15% off to guests who stop by before or after the show and present their ticket.

Celebrate National Nacho Day at Duckworth’s on Nov. 6

National Nacho Day? Count us in. Duckworth’s nachos feature 1 pound of chicken and one pound of cheese, plus other delectable topping piled high. Plans = made.

The Waterman’s Two Locations Community Focus Features on 11/15:

The Waterman – Cornelius Nov. 15 ~ 20% of in-store sales from 5-9pm will benefit the Cornelius Animal Shelter. 

The Waterman – South End Nov. 15 ~ 20% of in-store sales from 5-10pm will benefit The Bulb Mobile Markets. This nonprofit provides local produce, as well as health and wellness education, to food-insecure neighborhoods.

Also, The Waterman is doing a Brews & Brine Pop Up Nov. 29 ~ shucking hundreds of oysters (for free!) at 26 Acres Brewing from 6pm until gone! 

Sea Level NC Rising Tide Cocktail Sales Benefit – thru Nov 26

20% of each Rising Tide Cocktail sold will benefit March of Dimes (MOD), a nonprofit dedicated to leading the fight for the health of all moms and babies. Their goals are to end preventable maternal health risks and deaths, end preventable preterm birth and infant death, and close the health equity gap.

Menu News to Note

The Fox & Falcon by David Burke has added brunch to their lineup

Make reservations now for brunch at The Fox & Falcon, happening every Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The new weekend menu showcases dishes like appetizers Lobster Dumplings with tomato miso sauce, basil oil and confit lemon; Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast with smashed avocado, arugula, tomatoes, lemon oil and sourdough and Chef David Burke’s signature DB Clothesline Slab Bacon. Entrée options include Popover Florentine Benedict with poached eggs, spinach, artichokes and hollandaise; Chicken & Waffles with hot honey, shishito peppers, bread and butter pickles; and Sea Scallops with Shrimp & Grits with white cheddar grits, creole sauce and squid ink tuile. New Menu Launched at Church and Union Charlotte

The new menu featuring 17 new dishes, will include favorites from sister locations Church and Union Charleston and Church and Union Nashville, as well as new dishes created by Chef Partners Jamie Lynch and Adam Hodgson. Among the 17 new dishes, you will find a variety of fresh seafood options, such as the Nola Shrimp, CU Poke Bowl, PEI Mussels, Maryland Crab Cake, and 60 South Salmon. Additional menu highlights include Beef Tartare, Moroccan Meatballs, Fried Chicken and Dry Aged New York Strip. Handmade
Braided Ravioli, a staple from Church and Union Charleston, will also be added to the line up at Church and Union Charlotte.
