Openings & Closings
The Loft at Duckworth’s, SouthPark – Open now!
From restaurateur Rob Duckworth comes the latest venture specializing in craft cocktails and bar bites in a mid-century modern space. Expect a cozy atmosphere perfect for sipping on any of the menu’s 38 (and gradually expanding) classic cocktails from Beverage Director & Mixologist Ron Oleksa or bar bites including paninis, flatbreads and sweets. For now, they’re open Thursday-Saturday 4pm to midnight.
Taco Boy, LoSo – Just Opened (Jan. 30)

Taco Boy, a beloved Charleston-based restaurant, will open its first Charlotte location on Jan. 30 at The Station at LoSo. Diners can expect scratch-made Mexican-inspired cuisine like Al Pastor Tacos, Ceviche, Crab and Shrimp Enchiladas, made-to-order Guacamole en Molcajete, vegan-friendly Jackfruit Carnitas Tacos, Jicama Salad, Quesataco, and Steak Tampiquena. Late night hours will also offer rotating DJs, a rooftop and more.
For opening week, Jan. 30 through Feb. 6, Taco Boy LoSo will be open for dinner only from 5-11 p.m., and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. On Wednesday,Feb. 7, the restaurant will host Taco Boy’s LoSo-pening Fiesta from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., featuring $5 casa margaritas, complimentary churros for each table, live DJ music, hourly prizes, and a giveaway for a rooftop private party for 10.
Mano Bella Artisan Foods, SouthPark (Morrison) – Open now
Created by husband and wife, Raffaele and Madison Patrizi, Mano Bella Artisan Foods uses simple and pure ingredients to create authentic Italian food made by hand or “fatto a mano.” They’ve expanded beyond their 7th St. Market spot into SouthPark, located in the Morrison Shops (old Earthfare center) and now serving authentic and local Italian cuisine Wednesday through Sunday. Mano Bella offers indoor and outdoor seating, wine, cocktails, a pasta bar and live pasta making demos. Plus, pick up to-go treats like biscotti, sauces, handmade cheeses, dried and fresh pasta.
Little Mama’s Italian, Rea Farms – Open now

With three incredible years in SouthPark under its belt, Little Mama’s Italian is now open in Rea Farms. The lunch and dinner menus will be identical to the original Little Mama’s with the addition of a handful of pizzas from Mama Ricotta’s with some new twists. There will be two special pies available only in Rea Farms: Diavola Pizza with Calabrian salami, caramelized onions, cherry peppers, provolone picante, homemade mozz, and a Calabrian hot honey sauce & Stracciatella Pizza with olive oil, mozzarella, house stracciatella, provolone picante, Fontina, wild mushrooms, and a white truffle oil drizzle.
Kudoku Sushi & Asian Kitchen, Plaza Midwood – Open now
Don’t miss trying the new sushi and Asian kitchen in Plaza Midwood. Kudoku Sushi is now open in the former spot that housed The Warmack. Expect sushi, small plates, cocktails and more.
Another Brewery, NoDa – Open now
Across from the original Amelie’s spot in NoDa, Another Brewery had its soft opening on Dec. 31. Find them at 2509 N Davidson Street.
The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar, Concord – Open now

Satisfy your sweet tooth in a whole new way. Crazy Mason Milkshakes, originally based in Myrtle Beach, is now open in Concord. Dessert-lovers can try a variety of gourmet milkshakes, ice cream sundaes and sandwiches, waffles and more.
Cuzzo’s Cuisine, Charlotte Premium Outlets – Open now

While you’re out shopping, stop into the newest Cuzzo’s Cuisine location, the brand’s third, inside the Charlotte Premium Outlets. The menu includes seafood combination plates, wings, lobster Mac and cheese, waffles and more.
Ka Udon, NoDa – Open now

Inside Urban District Market, KaUdon is now open, offering Japanese udon noodles and tempura options. Choose from beef, tofu, spicy, curry options and more.
Eight & Sand closed, tapas spot Catalú will open in its place

Sadly, Eight & Sand in South End is now closed. A new tapas restaurant called Catalú is expected to take its place. Catalú will be operated by the owners of Que Onda and Que Fresa.
