It’s just about the time of year when we can stroll through vendors at local farmers markets for local produce, goods, flowers, and more. Area markets begin to open April 1st through early May, and a few are even open year round. We have the scoop on Spring 2024 farmers markets all over the greater Charlotte area and exurbs.
Spring & Summer Only Markets
North End Farmers Market
300 Camp Rd
Open: April 18 — October 31 on Thursdays; 4PM — 8PM.
The North End Farmers Market brings together local farmers, ranchers, crafters and more to create the perfect place to get in your mid-week shopping. Anchor vendors at this farmers market include It’s Flowering Shop for flowers, Bizzy Bee for honey, Charlotte Mushroom Works for speciality mushrooms, and more.
Uptown Farmers Market
300 S. Davidson St
Open: April 13 — December 31 on Saturdays; 8AM — 12:30PM.
Found in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, the Uptown Farmers Market is a producer-only farmers market. Here, you can admire the mural that surrounds the market, shop for locally grown, fresh foods, suppot local farmers, and learn about healthy eating.
Matthews Community Farmers Market
188 N. Trade St, Matthews
Open: April 13 — November 23 on Saturdays; 8AM — 12PM.
Local folks, local farms, local food is the motto of the Matthews Community Farmers Market, which is starting its main market season on April 13. Get fresh produce and other goods from vendors like Blue Goat Dairy, Cody Strawberry Farm, Whisper Creek Farm and more.
The Village at Robinson Farms Market
8410 Rea Road
Open: Wednesdays and Saturdays from April 20 through October, 9am – 3 pm.
Starter plants along with herbs and spring fruits, berries and vegetables.
Waxhaw Farmers Market
27283 Waxhaw Parkway, Waxhaw
Open: Saturdays, starting April 20th from 9am – noon. Also open as a Winter Market.
The WFM is a “producers-only” market. Vendors proudly grow and make all of their products locally. They come to the market to provide their customers fresh-from-the-farm goodness and our unique crafting of hand-made foods and specialty items.
Plaza Midwood Farmers Market

The Plaza Midwood Farmers Market is a farmers market made just for you! During the spring season (April to November), you can sign up for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Box, which is like a subscription to a farm. You’ll pay an upfront amount for produce at the beginning of the season, then each week you’ll pick up your box. Pickup locations include Local Loaf (Thursdays, 5PM — 7PM), The Market at 7th Street (Wednesdays, 5PM — 6PM), Common Market at Plaza Midwood (Saturdays, 10AM — 1PM), and the University City Farmers Market (Saturdays 9AM — 1PM). CSA boxes and subscriptions are also available for summer and fall seasons.
Cotswold Farmers Market
4921 Randolph Road
Open: May — October on Saturdays; 8AM — 12PM.
The 2024 season of the Cotswold Farmers Market kicks off on May 4. Expect to find fresh produce, breads, seasonal fruits, veggies, eggs, and meats sold directly from the local grower at this farmers market in the heart of the Cotswold community.

Fort Mill Farmer’s Market

Now in its fifth year, the Fort Mill Farmers & Artisans Market offers the community a place to purchase and sell local produce, farm/agricultural products, and handmade/handcrafted items.
Mint Hill Farmers Market

University City Farmers Market

Explore the University City Farmers Market on Saturdays to find local, responsibly raised fruits, vegetables, meats and pasture-raised eggs. The market also has a variety of other goods like artisanal foods and wellness products.

Davidson Farmers Market

Listen for the Big Red Market Bell to ring and signal that it’s time to enter the Davidson Farmers Market every Saturday in the spring, summer, and fall. This market has produce, baked goods, flowers, and meats you won’t want to miss out on this season. Find it located next to the Town Hall between Main St. and Jackson St.
Mount Holly Farmers Market

The Mount Holly Farmers Market focuses on supporting local farms, teaching community members about the benefits of eating locally grown food, and even demonstrating how to grow your own food! The market boasts vendors that carry eggs, coffee, olives, baked goods, meats and more.
Belmont Farmers Market

The Belmont Farmers Market, located in Stowe Park in Belmont, is the perfect place to stroll around on a weeknight. With lots of local vendors bringing everything from produce to baked goods, the Belmont Farmers Market has something for everyone.

Year Round Markets
South End Farmers Market

Open: Year-round on Saturdays; 8AM — 1PM.
The South End Farmers Market, located outside of Atherton Mill near the Rail Trail, is brimming with local produce and goods you can snag year round. Purchase everything from handmade pierogis to bamboo teas to pasture-raised eggs and fresh vegetables here.
Charlotte Regional Farmers Market

Open: Year-round, Wednesdays — Sundays; 8AM — 5PM.
If you’re looking for a large farmers market with lots of variety and tons of hours to get your grocery shopping done, the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market is the place for you to visit. This market is supported by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and has everything from produce to plants to arts & crafts.
Mecklenburg County Market
1515 Harding Pl.
Open: Year-round, Mondays — Fridays, 9AM — 6PM; Saturdays 7AM — 6PM; Sundays 12PM — 5PM.
This local farmers market is open year round and seven days a week, making it easy and convenient for Mecklenburg County residents to fill their fridges and homes with local produce, goods, and foods. Don’t forget to check the hours before you head out to the oldest farmers market in North Carolina.
