One of the easiest ways to get your steps in is to find some fellow walkers and runners to stroll with you. Take a look at this list of running and walking clubs ~ helpfully organized by the day of the week they meet ~ for miles, coffee, and socializing.
Various Days – Girls Who Walk Walking Club
@GirlsWhoWalk is a weekly walking club for women (Bringing Women Together One Step at at Time) and is part of the “global City Girl Walks movement.” Info about upcoming walks and women’s social events primarily via Instagram, and other social media.
Charlotte Running Club
The Charlotte Running Club website has the most user friendly Run Club list we found HERE. While these folks appear to be serious runners, their list of run clubs is wide-ranging and sorted by day with beaucoup links so you can check things out. While many (most?) are brewery based, as runners need their carb replacement, there are a few coffee and other options 🙂
Mondays
Monday Morning Trailblazers
Nothing beats a morning trail run to start the week. Join the Trailblazers every Monday Morning at the White Water Center at 6 am.
Charlotte Ladies Run Club
The Charlotte Ladies Run Club is for women by women. This ladies run club meets every Monday at 6:10 AM in the Atherton Mill Shopping Center.
SouthPark Run Club
Join the newly formed SouthPark Run Club every Monday for a community run starting at 5pm. Refreshments are provided.
Matthews Run Club
All paces and faces are welcome at Matthews Run Club. Meet the group at 6:15 PM on Monday nights for a free run around downtown Matthews. Stay post-run for a food and drinks meet-up afterward at a local Matthews spot.
Squirrel Lake Park Walk
Looking for a nice stroll in the park while making new friends? Join in on the steps and good company every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at Squirrel Lake Park.
Tuesdays
RunBots
RunBots is a weekly social group run that meets at Wooden Robot Brewery every Tuesday at 6:30 PM, rain or shine. All are welcome and NO sign-up is needed. They have 1, 3, and 5-mile run options.
Summit Coffee Eastover Run Club
Meet us at Summit Coffee on Eastover at 6:15 AM on Tuesday mornings to get your steps and miles in. And of course, enjoy some coffee afterward!
Mad Miles Run Club
Looking to add some excitement to your schedule? Mad Miles Run Club has you covered. Mad Miles offers THREE regular weekly runs to fit your needs. Whether you’re craving a leisurely stroll or looking to pick up the pace, they are ready to see you thrive.
Black Men Run Club
Open to beginners and advanced runners, this club’s mission is to encourage health and wellness among African American men by promoting a culture of running to stay fit.
Wednesdays
Noda Brewing Run Club
Noda Brewing Run Club has a welcoming and constantly growing community that meets Wednesday’s (6:30 PM) and Sunday’s (Noon) to run, socialize, and enjoy a craft beer for some post-run fuel.
South End Coffee Run
Looking for a midweek morning run and a jolt of java with fellow runners after? Search no more. Everyone is welcome to join, members and non-members. Run with the group and get a 15% discount on your coffee afterward 🙂
Thursdays
Ballantyne Running Club
Thursdays at 6:30 PM, Ballantyne’s very own social running club meets in front of 12206 Copper Way for a night of walking, running, and chatting.
Birdsong Brewery Run Club
All are welcome at Birdsong Brewing Co. at 6:30 PM on Thursday nights for 1, 3, or 6-mile runs and a beer or two afterwards.

Meet at Summit Coffee on the Plaza for a run at 6:15 AM on Friday mornings to kickstart your weekend! Don’t forget a pastry and an espresso afterward to reward yourself for all your hard work!
Saturdays
Parkrun
Walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate every Saturday at 9:00 AM at Little Sugar Creek Greenway. Come and enjoy the morning at whatever pace you please and enjoy a post-parkrun coffee at a local place each week.
Charlotte Running Co.
Every 3rd Saturday at 7 AM, Charlotte Running Club welcomes all to come out and enjoy the morning. There are four different options to get your morning miles in: 1 mile, 2 miles, 4 miles, and 6 miles. Come run with friends, meet new friends, and enjoy some well-deserved pancakes and coffee after your run.
Urban Runners
Urban Runners is a friendly family of runners who are always scheming to convince each other to either run more or get their steps in! They especially enjoy showing new runners the QC and getting new folks to lace up and join in for a run! The group meets at 8:00 AM on Saturday mornings.
Charlotte Run Walk
Join Charlotte’s longest running run-walk program if you are just getting into running, walking, or looking for someone to help you achieve your next goals. Training runs are scheduled for Saturday mornings around 8am and additional mid-week runs are encouraged throughout the week.
Sundays
Flying Biscuit Run Club
Start your Sunday mornings off right with a 3 or 6-mile run at 7:30 AM. Get your steps in, bring a friend or two, and then enjoy a post-run breakfast at none other than the Flying Biscuit!
4-Mile Walk-N-Talk
What better way to get your steps in than through a summer Walk-N-Talk every other Sunday at 9:00 AM, meeting at Matthews Elementary. Afterward, join the group for coffee and refreshments at Dilworth Coffee.
