800 Degrees Carolinas – The Alley Uptown, aka Latta ArcadeJust Opened

Opened this week at @thealleyclt, 800 Degrees Uptown will be open 7 days week from 11-7PM. Lunch covered.

Calle Sol Latin Café & Cevicheria, SouthPark – Open now

Calle Sol Latin Café & Cevicheria opened at 3100 Apex Drive in SouthPark on May 31, with a menu featuring dishes like Vaca Frita, Cuban Sandwiches, Peruvian Ceviches, and Chino-Latino Chaufas, complemented by a robust rum bar and cocktails. The 3800-square-foot space includes a large patio and expanded bar, perfect for enjoying fresh ceviche and drinks.

3rd & Fernwood, Metropolitan – Open now

3rd and Fenwood is now open at the Metropolitan, brought to us by Subrina Collier and James Beard-nominated chef Greg Collier. The menu features a fresh take on Southern salads, entrees, sandwiches, sides (with a focus on vegetables) and desserts. Located at 1100 Metropolitan Ave., the restaurant is open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM.

Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley, Uptown – Open now

Opening June 1st in Queen City Quarter, Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley will bring elevated southern comfort food to Uptown Charlotte. Located at 210 E Trade Street, the two-story restaurant seats over 175 people and features a menu of a la carte southern delights, along with a special brunch menu on weekends.

Palace on 4th, Uptown – Open now

Palace on 4th, a new cocktail bar in Uptown, soft opened last week featuring an extensive hookah and bar menu with craft cocktails.

Flower Child, Ballantyne – Open now

The first restaurant in the much-anticipated community in the Ballantyne Bowl has opened. The 3,555-square-foot space will offer a variety of healthy dishes like its South End sibling.

Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Ballantyne – Open now

OMB’s new taproom at 5025 Bowl St. will be the largest brewery in south Charlotte, featuring 14,000 sqft of indoor space, a 7,000-sqft patio, and a mezzanine balcony and patio for private events. The brewery will offer German fare, a tree-lined biergarten, a nature playground for kids, and host special events.

Savor Restaurant and Bar, South Charlotte

Savor Restaurant and Bar has opened at the former Buffalo Wild Wings building on Sardis Road. The 5,000-sqft restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring Colombian, Honduran, Salvadoran, Mexican, and Venezuelan cuisines, along with some American favorites.

Ramble Drinkery

A new “roaming drinkery”, called Ramble Drinkery, opened on May 23, with plans to pop up in different locations around the city ~ restaurants, breweries, private events ~ with an ever-changing menu to fit with offerings at each location. Currently at @freerangebrew on Thurdays to Sundays and will be at L’Ostrica 6/16 for their Father’s Day Dinner. Follow on IG here for upcoming pop-up announcements.

Marina’s Tapas, Optimist Hall – Opening soon

Chef Andres Kaifer and Alex Bridges, known for Customshop in Elizabeth, will open Marina’s Tapas in Summer 2024. Named after Kaifer’s great-grandmother, Marina Martinez, this restaurant will offer authentic Spanish tapas and celebrate North Carolina’s local produce. Chef Dre Cavazos will serve as Chef de Cuisine, bringing creativity and authenticity to the menu, which will feature classic tapas and rotating specials.

Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, SouthPark – Opening soon

Bobby’s Burgers will open a flagship location in SouthPark, Charlotte, this June. The restaurant will offer burgers, chicken and veggie sandwiches, sides, and shakes.

Closing:

Stephen Satterfield: Destination Carolinas al Fresco

1957 Hospitality Supports Madelyn’s Fund with pink cocktails and soft serve

1957 Hospitality is partnering with Madelyn’s Fund to support NICU patients and their families. Until June 30th, Rosemont, Crunkleton, and Puerta will offer a special “drink pink” cocktail, and Cheats will feature a strawberry soft serve, with proceeds benefiting the charity. Madelyn’s Fund assists families facing financial burdens from unexpected time off work, travel expenses, medical bills, and in tragic cases, funeral costs, helping them focus on their child’s wellbeing and healing process.
