Yiasou Greek Festival 5K

Yiasou Greek Festival 5K presented by Novant Health

Opa! Join the 2024 Yiasou Greek Festival 5k and Kids’ 1 miler presented by Novant Health, on Saturday, August 24. This is how the Charlotte running community sends off summer – by participating in the flattest, fastest, 5k in town. This fantastic 5k course winds through some of the most beautiful and iconic avenues in Charlotte’s historic Dilworth neighborhood. And did we mention it’s flat and fast? 

The 2024 Yiasou Greek Festival 5k presented by Novant Health starts and finishes at 600 East Boulevard in Charlotte, NC.

Labor Day Trail Race 5K

Jumpstart your holiday weekend with a 5K or 15K trail race hosted by the Whitewater Center. Last day to pre-register is August 29th, and awards will be given to the top three finishers in both distances in various age groups.

Around the Crown 10K

Sunday, September 1st, 2024

Around the Crown 10K is the perfect way for runners to experience this amazing city on the first day of September. Starting and finishing in Uptown Charlotte, runners will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to run the entirety of the Queen City’s 3 mile major inner loop, I-277. The finish festival will take participants from the Queen City’s most stunning race to a party with refreshments and activities for all ages. Once you’ve taken 277 medal selfies, head to the official after party at NoDa Brewing for a taste of some Jogger Lager, our local craft beer!

Camp Care 5K & 10K

September 14th, 2024 | 8:00 AM

Camp CARE (Cancer Ain’t Really the End) provides a weeklong summer camp and year-round activities to children who have or have had cancer and their families in the Charlotte area. The 5K will be held at Belle Johnston Community Center, Johnston Drive, Pineville, NC.

South End Shuffle 5K & Mile Run

September 14th, 2024

Presented by Skufca LawWooden Robot Brewery, and Beacon Partners, the South End Shuffle 5K starts on W Summit Ave in front of Wooden Robot Brewery and heads into Charlotte’s South End and Wilmore neighborhoods. There is also a 1 Mile Run for those looking for a shorter distance.

Registration includes a finisher medal and beer (21+) from Wooden Robot Brewery or ice cream for those under 21. Shirts included for the 5K, and available as an upgrade for the 1 Mile.

Pull for a Purpose: 24,000 Meter Row to Benefit Cancer Community

September 14th, 2024 | 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Not technically a walk or a run, but Pull for a Purpose’s cause is worthy of stepping outside your typical comfort zone and giving this unique rowing event a try! The event will include a DJ, food, and drinks, as well as competitive and non-competitive divisions. Competitive teams of two or non-competitive (‘party boat’) teams of two to four will come together to complete a combined total of 24,000 meters rowed. All are welcome, and participants must be age 8 or older to participate. Sugar Creek Brewing Company, Crossfit Mecklenburg, and 24 Foundation invite area residents to pull together for the cancer community through this special rowing experience.

St. Jude Walk Run

The St. Jude Walk/Run is an inspiring, family-friendly event that unites people across the nation behind the lifesaving mission of St. Jude.

Participate Your Way:

  1. Start a team, join an already existing team or participate as an individual. Next, decide if you’d like to join in-person or virtually. Find an in-person event near you.
  2. Download the St. Jude Walk/Run mobile app — available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  3. Collect donations online and spread the word about your fundraising while earning cool St. Jude gear.

Run for Green

Come experience the Run For Green races, where the course is in the beautiful small town of Davidson, North Carolina. This year is the 19th Annual Running Event. The course winds its way through lovely little neighborhoods with long stretches out in the woods on the greenway where you can take in the serenity of nature.  

Midwood Mile

The Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association presents the Midwood Mile, starting at Plaza Presbyterian Church, located at 2304 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC. Registration includes a shirt and a chance to win prizes, plus it includes 10% off at Summit Coffee OTP the day of the race or Sunday Sept 29th. Simply show race bib to receive the discount.

Jeepers Creepers 5/10K at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

What better time to play dress up than at the first ever Jeepers Creepers 5k and 10k at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden? Jeepers Creeper participants will get to race in the first ever costume race at the Garden (costumes not mandatory but highly encouraged).  Runners and walkers can then enjoy free admission to the Garden to enjoy our fall exhibit: “Scarecrow Hollow”. Beautiful trails and a festive atmosphere will make this race the perfect kick off to fall and spooky season! There may even be a few special prizes for those who really get in the mood and go all out!

C2 Obstacle Trail Run

C2 Obstacle Trail Race — Charlotte Running Company

The C2 Obstacle Trail Run is the Steele Creek YMCA’s signature event and pushes its participants to maximize their mental and physical endurance. The run is held at Camp Thunderbird (1 Thunderbird Lane, Lake Wylie, SC) and is perfect for runners and walkers of all levels and ages – beginner to expert. Finishers will receive a custom die cast finisher medal after crossing the vibrant finish line and official race apparel for participating.

Pink Cupcake Walk

October 5th, 2024

The Pink Cupcake Walk & Breast Cancer Survivor Lap is back again this year in Uptown. You’ll be supporting Go Jen Go, a non-profit that provides financial assistance to families in the greater Charlotte area who are facing the financial burden of breast cancer. The Pink Cupcake Walk starts at 9:30am with gates to the field opening at 7:30am. Register today. Then, plan to join us at the baseball stadium in uptown on the first Saturday in October for four laps around the Charlotte Knight’s baseball field. As you make each lap, stop at a different local bakery for a delicious mini-cupcake.

2024 Out of the Ashes 5K & Remembrance Walk

Mark your calendars for our 5th annual 5K and Remembrance Walk to honor and remember families walking through pregnancy loss, infant loss and infertility. Each year, this race’s organizers hope is to create an event that provides a place to honor and acknowledge every family walking through grief in pursuit of a family. The race consists of both a Competitive 5k and a Remembrance Walk.

Rocktoberfest Half Marathon & 5K

Rocktoberfest Half Marathon & 5k

The Rocktoberfest Half Marathon and 5K is a running event that takes place in Rock Hill, South Carolina. To keep the runners motivated, there is a rock band performing live music near the start/finish line. After the race, participants can enjoy an Octoberfest beer garden where they can celebrate their achievements with friends and family. The beer garden will feature a variety of beers, including some of the best local brews.

This event is not just about the race; it’s a full-day celebration of fitness, music, and good times. Whether you are a seasoned runner or a beginner, the Rocktoberfest Half Marathon and 5K is an excellent opportunity to have fun and experience the unique atmosphere of the Riverwalk area of Rock Hill.

CLT Runway 5K

The 2024 Runway 5K is cleared for takeoff at Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. The CLT Runway 5K is one of the most unique certified races in the nation, with the route is entirely on the runway and taxiway, several aircrafts parked on the course, spectacular views of planes taking off and landing, and a smooth, flat surface that is wheelchair and stroller friendly.

Strides for Shelter 5K Run & Walk

Strides for Shelter 5K is presented by the Canopy Housing Foundation and will be held at McAlpine Creek Park, Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC. The proceeds from this year’s race will fund the construction of a fully furnished one-bedroom, one-bath cottage for a homeless veteran in Home Again’s second development on a 2-acre site in Mecklenburg County. 

2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The 6th Annual Running Scared 5 Miler/5K & Monster Mile will take place on October 26th, 2024 at 9:00 AM. This family fun event encourages participants to have fun, be creative, and dress up in costumes. Costumes are of course encouraged but not required. Enjoy a scenic 5 mile & 5K race through and around uptown Charlotte. There will be face painting, games, food trucks, beer, music, and more.

NODA Halloween Freaky 5K

NoDa Freaky 5K, and NoDaWeen Costume Party at NoDa Company Store ...

The NoDaWeen Freaky 5K is a fun run hosted by the NoDa “NBA” – Neighborhood and Business Association. Come run though one of Charlotte’s most historic and spookiest neighborhoods. Participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes as prizes will be handed out for best costumes and for fastest runners. A post-run party will be held at NoDa Company Store. This race is great for experienced and beginner runners or walkers and for families, friends, teenagers, kids, and strollers. Well behaved, leashed dogs, are welcome. The 5K will be held at 3221 Yadkin Avenue, Charlotte, NC.

On Saturday, November 2, join Atrium Health Foundation for the 29th Annual Hopebuilders 5K benefiting Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. Partnered again with the Charlotte Knights, Atrium is bringing the event to Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte for a morning of hope, impact, and family fun.

HeroRun 5K & 1K Run

Want to help military veterans—and have fun while you’re at it? Then lace up your running shoes to join Fairview Plaza and American Asset Corporation for the Seventh Annual HeroRun to benefit Veterans Bridge Home.

Two races will kick off at 8 a.m., November 2, 2024, at Fairview Plaza office buildings, with a 5k taking you through scenic South Park neighborhoods and a 1k Fun Run keeping you close to Fairview Road. Music, activities, and real heroes, members of all five branches of the U.S. military, will make for a fun, special event.

Charlotte Turkey Trot

Celebrated as one of the 20 Best Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trots in America, the Turkey Trot is a Charlotte Thanksgiving tradition for the past 35 years. The largest road race in North Carolina with a record 10,258 participants in 2023 is a homecoming destination for extended families, old classmates, and a place to meet your neighbors. The community comes together to kick-off the holiday season with a healthy morning run or walk before heading home for food and family. Starting and finishing at SouthPark Mall, participants can choose from an 8K Run, a 5K Run/Walk, a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk and a 50-yard Tot Trot.
