Now Open

Sushi Hana, Ballantyne – Open now

Sushi Hana, an all-you-can-eat sushi spot, is now open in Ballantyne. The whole family can enjoy weekly lunch specials and kids 4-10 eat for $9.99 at lunch and $18.99 for dinner.

Dilworth Tasting Room, Plaza Midwood – Open now

Local restaurateurs Jaffer and Zoe Kovic opened their third Dilworth Tasting Room location on August 13 in Plaza Midwood. The new location will offer a full menu of Mediterranean-inspired dishes and a cocktail menu that will include a rotating seasonal cocktail list and a number of spirit free options.

Salted Melon, Eastover – Open now

Fans of the South End location will be thrilled that Salted Melon has opened another location in Easter. Expect the same menus and vibes as the original location and find them at 815 Providence Rd.

3rd and Fernwood, Metropolitan – Open now

From James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Greg Collier comes 3rd and Fernwood, a highly anticipated spot serving Southern-inspired and seasonal fare.

MaBí Cocina Tropical, NoDa – Open now

Take a brief trip to the Dominican Republic with a visit to MaBí Cocina Tropical. Enjoy Caribbean-inspired cocktails and mains, plus coffee and pastries.

Biscuit Belly, Elizabeth – Open now

Kentucky-based brunch spot Biscuit Belly is now open in Elizabeth, serving biscuits, biscuit sandwiches, breakfast bowls and morning-inspired cocktails.

Single Barrel Room – Plaza Midwood, Open now

Now open in Plaza Midwood, Whiskey Warehouse has reopened its cocktail lounge, The Single Barrel Room. Guests can enjoy a renovated space and a new menu featuring special cocktails and small plates. Walk-in only.

Sun’s Kitchen, South End – Open now

You can now enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine in a bustling new corner of lower South End. Sun’s Kitchen serves up a variety of small plates including dumplings, dim sum, skewers, and other street food.

Sea Grill, Uptown – Open now

New to Queen City Quarter, Sea Grill offers a stunning setting serving Asian and European-inspired seafood dishes. Expect seafood towers and raw bar options, sushi rolls, seafood entrees and sharable chef specialties.

Pasta Crush – Uptown, Open now

New to Monarch Market in Uptown, Pasta Crush offers diners dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese, Cajun Creamy Chicken and Pesto Mushroom, plus a build-your-own option. Find them between Dock Local and Focaccina.

Coming Soon

Blasian Asian Way, Camp North End – Opening Sept. 4

Coming soon to Camp North End, this new Korean barbecue fusion restaurant will mark the first brick and mortar spot for the popular food truck known by the same name.

DŌZO, Wesley Heights – Opening Sept. 10

When it opens September 10, DŌZO will provide The City Kitch’s visitors with a taste of Japanese-American fare, much of which will be familiar to fans of the Katsu Kart food truck. The food truck owners and sous chef also expect to bring new seafood dishes to the menu.

Hip Hop Smoothies – Camp North End, Coming soon

Smoothie fans who frequent Hip Hop Smoothies’ locations in Uptown and East Charlotte will love when their new location opens inside an airstream at Camp North End. Expect outdoor seating, fresh menu options and plenty of hip-hop tunes.

Oshen, South Charlotte – Opening soon

From the owners of Yunta Nikkei comes a family-friendly sushi spot expected to open in the Colony Place shopping center. Expect sushi, hibachi and more in an upscale atmosphere.

Blue Door, South End – Opening soon

Coming soon to the former Bardo spot in South End, Blue Door will offer up to 20 unique cocktails. Find them at 1508 S. Mint St.

Just announced: Napa at Stonecrest

Napa fans, rejoice! News of a Stonecrest location is on the horizon. Stay tuned for more details as they’re released.

Endless Summer at The Green Room

Embark on an exciting journey inspired by the Iconic 1966 American surf documentary: The Endless Summer with a “trip around the world” on any Friday or Saturday from 08/23-09/28. City Kitch Food Truck Rally

City Kitch, Charlotte’s coworking kitchen for creative culinary entrepreneurs, is hosting the City Kitch Food Truck Rally this month to celebrate its diverse in-house culinary concepts. The family- and dog-friendly event will feature a live DJ, kid-friendly activities, and other entertainment and creative vendors. No tickets required. Guests will purchase from each truck directly with most menu items starting around $10.

Roaring Riot Kickoff Jam Festival
September 14 | NoDa Brewing Company

Along with kicking it with Panthers royalty including Jonathan Stewart, Captain Munnerlyn, Mike Rucker and Chuba Hubbard this year’s Kickoff Jam features a full day of live music including top national recording artists Moon Taxi and The Nude Party, as well Charlotte local favs Simplified, Cutty Cutright and Deaf Andrews.

Fried Chicken Around the World Dinner

University City’s scenic lake and charming boardwalk at the Shoppes at University Place is the location for the 8th annual University City Wine Fest. Farm to Fork in the Garden

This year’s Farm to Fork Picnic in the Garden will feature over 30 of the Charlotte area’s finest chefs and local farmers creating dishes that highlight the delicious seasonal bounty of local farms. Guests will enjoy sampling locally-sourced foods and beverages, meeting chefs and farmers, listening to live music, and enjoying the beauty of the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Proceeds from the event will support agriculture and food system training programs at the Center for Environmental Farming Systems and farmer grants at Piedmont Culinary Guild. Tickets for the event are $125 per person, which includes drinks, and may be purchased through the Farm to Fork Picnic in the Garden website.
