SouthPark After 5 – PLUS BLOOD DRIVE AND DONATION COLLECTION
Thursday, October 3, 5p
Head to Symphony Park to enjoy live music on the green, sip on adult beverages, and enjoy delicious food and hands on activities. This week, Java Band | On The Border Ultimate Eagles Tribute will be taking the stage. There’ll also be free face painting with Face Art & More, plus free sunflowers for the first 1000 attendees. MOST IMPORTANTLY THIS WEEK, collections will be taken for donations to the victims of Hurricane Helene in Western NC

You may have seen the big beer truck at SouthPark After 5, and this Thursday they will be filling it with supplies to be delivered to Western North Carolina on Friday morning.

  • The truck will be accepting donations at Symphony Park, 4400 Sharon Rd., across from Dick’s Sporting Goods from 12-9pm on Thursday, October 3.
  • All supplies will be accepted, with a particular need for water, nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, trash bags, baby formula, diapers, baby wipes, paper plates, and plastic utensils.
  • The American Red Cross will be on site accepting blood donations from 3-8pm, thanks to organizing partners Albemarle Corporation.

Phillips Place Community Pumpkin Patch
Thursday, October 3 – Sunday, October 6 from 10a – 4p. daily.
Kick off the fall season and stop by Phillips Place pumpkin patch in the central courtyard. Purchase your fall pumpkins for decor and carving from local farm, Cox Brothers Acres, and other seasonal items like fresh-cut sunflowers, local jams, apple cider, and more.

You’ll be supporting Go Jen Go, a non-profit that provides financial assistance to families in the greater Charlotte area who are facing the financial burden of breast cancer. The Pink Cupcake Walk starts at 9:30am with gates to the field opening at 7:30am. Register today. Then, plan to join us at the baseball stadium in uptown on the first Saturday in October for four laps around the Charlotte Knight’s baseball field. As you make each lap, stop at a different local bakery for a delicious mini-cupcake.

Take a step back in time at the Carolina Renaissance Festival, where there’s no shortage of medieval-themed entertainment, including jousting, falconry, games, and rides. Plus there’s an artisan market full of handcrafted items and crafts. The annual Carolina Renaissance Festival returns Saturdays and Sundays, from October 5th through November 24th, 2024. The Festival day kicks off with a pre-Opening Gate Show at 9:10 a.m. and gates are open from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

$5 from every ticket sold and a portion of drink sales during the event will be donated to help with their mission of empowering people who are blind to achieve personal and economic independence by providing them with vocational rehabilitation and employment opportunities.
