SouthPark

This fine dining restaurant in SouthPark is the perfect place to celebrate special occasions over a juicy steak. To begin your meal, choose a specialty cocktail or a spirit from the extensive wine list, scotch list, whiskey list or tequila and cognac list. The steak and chop options range in size and cut — from filet mignon, to strip steak, to ribeyes and tomahawks, there’s no shortage of meat here. Pair your steak with sides such as shells + cheese, corn creme brulee, asparagus fries and more.
Oak Steakhouse

Sit outside on the patio or inside the elegant dining room at Oak Steakhouse’s SouthPark location. The signature steaks include filet mignon, NY strip, ribeye, prime porterhouse and even a Japanese A5 wagyu. All steaks can be upgraded to include a blue cheese crust, lobster tail, crab, or foie gras and sauces are plentiful. The sides are served family style and if you saved room for dessert, the table side s’mores are a must.
The Palm

At The Palm, you’ll enjoy your steak surrounded by caricatures of famous Charlotte residents and beyond. The charming restaurant has a cold bar, soups, salads and appetizers to get you started before the main event. The steaks come in various cuts and range in size from 8 oz to 22 oz. Plus, they can all be topped with truffle butter, peppercorn, or crab and shrimp, and enhanced with lobster tail or seared scallops. Yum!

131 Main Restaurant serves steak and seafood in the Charlotte area. When you dine here and have a craving for steak, you can choose between a 14 oz Chicago ribeye and an 8 oz filet mignon. Both options are served with smashed potatoes and you can add a featured sauce or additional side if you please.

Napa at Kingsley & Napa on Providence

At both Napa Restaurant locations, indulge in a filet mignon dinner. Along with the steak, which is cooked exactly to your liking, you’ll get garlic roasted fingerling potatoes, haricot verts and bordelaise. Epic Chophouse

Epic Chophouse, which has locations in Fort Mill and Mooresville, is true to its name, as the food is truly epic. With options such as prime rib, porterhouse, petite filet mignon, and the fan favorite Jack’s Creek Australian Wagyu New York Strip, your meal at Epic Chophouse is one you’ll be thinking about long after its over.
South End & Dilworth
NY Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar

NY Butcher Shoppe, which has locations in Dilworth, Davidson, Indian Land and Fort Mill in the Charlotte area, is a truly special experience for steak dinners. While you can buy fresh meat at the front of the shop to cook at home, you also have the option to select your cut of steak from the wide variety offered in the butcher’s case, then have the staff cook it for you to enjoy in the restaurant. Plus, the restaurant serves sides and drinks to go along with your meal, making for your dream dinner every time.
Beef n’ Bottle

If you’re looking for a steakhouse to transport you back in time, Beef n’ Bottle is your place. Not only is the food great, but the interior decor is still authentic to the restaurant’s roots from opening in 1958, making for a dining experience unlike anything in Charlotte. Each steak is served with a large onion ring on top and comes with two sides of your choosing. Finish your meal with deep dish apple pie or a NY style cheesecake.
Sullivan’s

Get a steak dinner in the heart of South End at Sullivan’s. With a large selection of bone-in and house-cut steaks and a variety of enhancements such as caviar, lobster tail and blue cheese crust, there’s no shortage of delicious options here. Side dishes range from lobster mac and cheese to crab fried rice, and there’s even a prix-fixe three course dinner menu for $49 per person.
Uptown
The Cellar at Duckworth’s

Located underneath Duckworth’s — a traditional sports bar — is The Cellar at Duckworth’s, an intimate, dimly-lit, speakeasy-style steakhouse. The majority of the menu is sourced from local farms and steak options include ribeyes, filet mignons, bison filets, strips and tomahawks. Sides are big enough to be shared with the truffle fries and caramelized brussels being can’t miss menu items.
Mico
201 W Trade St
Mico’s menu is Argentinian-inspired with five meat choices that make you feel like you’re in a South American steakhouse. Steak options include an 8 oz filet of beef, 21 oz cowboy ribeye, 7 oz wagyu with lobster, 14 oz NY strip, and a 7 oz wagyu filet. Pair your meal with sides such as sweet plantains, South American parmesan fries, or coconut braised kale.
STK

STK Steakhouse has recently opened a Charlotte location in Uptown with a vibrant interior that’s the perfect setting for a girls night or date night. The menu is conveniently organized by size, so you can peruse based on if you want a small, medium or large cut of meat. There’s also sections of the menu dedicated to wagyu, toppings, butters and sauces so you can truly customize your steak. Plus, there’s three types of mac and cheese!
Fleming’s

Start your meal at Fleming’s Steakhouse with a soup, salad, or appetizer such as fresh oysters. Then, choose among many varieties of steak and multiple sides from potatoes, to vegetables to mac and cheese. This classic restaurant chain is perfect for celebrating a special occasion in Uptown Charlotte. With signature steaks and chops, speciality cuts, complements, signature sides and vegetables filling the menu, you’ll have no problem crafting a meal you love at this traditional steakhouse.
Coquette

This stunning French restaurant only has one steak dish on the menu, but it’s certainly not to be missed. Start your meal here with some charcuterie or a small plate such as smoked bone marrow or steak tartare. For the main course, the ribeye steak frites are a delectable dish that will leave you stuffed. Top off your meal with a night cap at the bar.
Dean’s Italian Steakhouse

Located in the JW Marriott building Uptown, Dean’s Italian Steakhouse is perfect to wine and dine. Once seated within the elegant interior, order something from the extensive raw bar. After your appetizer, select among wagyu, Japanese A5 wagyu, USDA prime, signature, and dry aged cuts of meat. Plus, you can make your meal a surf and turf with lobster or shrimp. If you saved any room for dessert, the limoncello pie and tiramisu are must try menu items.
Midtown
Dressler’s

Dinner at Dressler’s starts with appetizers such as ricotta gnocchi, warm goat cheese & roasted garlic, or a charcuterie board. For the main event, choose among a Berkshire porterhouse, filet mignon, or Delmonico ribeye. Plus, there’s a variety of sauces and a guide to temperature to directly on the menu, so you’ll get your perfect cook each time.
Plaza Midwood & Elizabeth
Supperland
1212 The Plaza
Described on its website as, “Southern steakhouse meets church potluck” Supperland is a can’t miss steak dinner in Charlotte. The old church turned restaurant has starters such as roasted oysters, baked brie, and onion dip. Like everything else on the menu, the steaks are meant to be eaten family-style and your choices include an 18oz. prime ribeye, 10 oz. prime filet, and 16oz. wagyu NY strip. Pair your meat with your favorite side including miso mac and cheese, bone marrow broccoli, mushroom risotto and more.
The Fig Tree
1601 E 7th St
This fine-dining restaurant has been around since 2005! The menu is small, but all the dishes are delicious. For main steak courses, you can order an NC bison ribeye with pickled mustard seeds over fingerling potato, mascarpone and arugula hash with broccoli rabe. Or, go for the stilton crusted filet mignon with ricotta gnocchi, shiitake mushrooms, sautéed spinach, crispy shallots, and rosemary brown butter. It’s almost too hard to pick.
The Crunkleton

We couldn’t create a list for steak in Charlotte without including The Crunkleton, the Charlotte staple that offers a monster 42oz. tomahawk ribeye. The CAB ribeye is served with rescoldo potatoes, hearth vegetable board dressing and charred bread and is meant to be shared with the table. Pro tip: if you visit on Tomahawk Tuesday, you’ll get 50% off the steak!
