Film Screening: ‘Trap Jazz’

As part of the Black Notes Project music weekend, The Mint Museum Uptown will present a screening of the 2023 documentary “Trap Jazz,” which delves into the innovative fusion of trap music and jazz by Atlanta-based musicians Chris Moten, Cassius Jay, and Devon “Stixx” Taylor. Following the film, there will be a thought-provoking discussion with Atlanta Voice COO Richard Dunn and a featured artist from the Coined in the South exhibition to explore how traditional creative cultures are preserved and reimagined in contemporary contexts.
