African-American Heritage Festival at Charlotte Museum of History
February 22 – 24
This FREE festival at Charlotte Museum of History spans over the course of three days and will feature a documentary showing, performances, guest speakers, and activities for the whole family. Here is the festival schedule:

  • Thursday, February 22nd: Documentary film screening with a pair of high school classmates in 1965.
  • Friday, February 23rd: Charlotte Caribbean Carnival. Come for the cultural presentation and stay for the food, costumes & music.
  • Saturday, February 24th: Get free admission to the Charlotte Museum of History to celebrate Charlotte’s Black history and culture. Expect performances, guest speakers, panels, and community-focused events for the whole family.

Fairy House Festival 2025

This festival at Latta Nature Preserve is one that everyone can enjoy and building fairy houses reconnects people with nature. This annual festival will inspire appreciation of the environment with storytelling, children’s crafts, activities, and games – all focused on fairies and nature. Fairy, gnome, and other appropriate costumes are encouraged but not required. Food vendors will be on site.

Historic Rosedale’s Black History Month Celebration: “Music Is Our Refuge”

Join Historic Rosedale and the surrounding community in a celebration of Black History: “Music Is My Refuge”. With a focus on music, they will be open to the public for FREE. We will welcome Joshua Carter, Actor Interpreter, who gives voice to Jemmy from “The Raleigh Tavern” in Williamsburg, VA. There will be musical performances, blacksmith demonstrations, make and take crafts, and a silent auction.
