It can be difficult to get out of bed on some mornings- especially during the winter months when big fluffy pillows and comforters are so warm and inviting.
But you know what motivates me to get moving each day?
Food.
There’s nothing like a healthy hot breakfast first thing in the morning to satisfy my hunger and start my day off right. Â At this time of the year in my household, breakfast is all about oatmeal. Â Even served cold (as you’ll see below), it is the perfect wintertime food.
Oatmeal is more than just a delicious breakfast food though. Â It has also been shown to lower cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and stabilize blood sugar. Â Add some chia seed and ground flax seed to your bowl, and you have a meal that is packed with fiber, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids.
