Charlotte Ghost Tours

You know those Ghost Tours often found in historic cities like Savannah and Charleston? Well as it turns out, the Queen City has some scary history to share too! Charlotte Ghost Tours offers three different tour options; a walking tour, a biking tour, and a segway tour. On the 90-minute haunted walking tour through Historic 4th Ward and Tryon Street, you explore Charlotte’s haunted history, see haunted sites and listen to spooky stories.

If cycling around Charlotte while hearing spooky ghost stories and stopping for some brews, then the Haunted Bicycle Pub Crawl is for you. This 90-minute tour includes stops in Historic 4th Ward, Settlers Cemetery, Tryon Street and two of Charlotte’s most haunted pubs.

Glide around the haunted streets of Charlotte and explore the city’s ghosts on a Haunted Segway Tour. Also a 90-minute tour, destinations include Settlers Cemetery, The Square, Historic 4th Ward and more. A cool way to learn about the history of our beautiful city and have a little ghostly fun.

The Haunted Mill

Belmont’s Haunted Mill is in its 19th year and is a truly intense Halloween experience. Tour the 115 year old mill while making your way through crazy mazes, animation effects, chainsaws and plenty of scares along the way.

Tickets are $10 for children and $15 for adults.

Haunted Carriage Rides

Hop on a horsedrawn carriage and wind through the streets of Uptown in the dark while listening to historic ghost stories about the times of bootleggers, hangings and the Uptown morgue. Scarrigan Farms

The 130 acre Carrigan Farms in Mooresville transforms into Scarrigan Farms, one of the scariest haunted trails in the area. Touted as not for children, this teen and adults only (12 years and older) attraction will have you crawling, sliding and squeezing in addition to walking along the 1/2 mile trail. We challenge you to make it through! Tickets are $20 per person and sales begin each night at 6:30pm with the first entry after dark.

Campground Nightmare

Campground Nightmare has been in operation in Fort Mill, SC since 1994 and aims to make you feel as through you are experiencing a “living” horror movie. Yikes. Touted as one of the scariest, heart-pumping, grotesque haunted experience in the Carolinas, Campground Nightmare ensures they will scare you to death. But let’s hope they don’t go quite that far.

Carolina History and Haunts

Carolina History and Haunts offers either Beyond the Grave or Full Moon Walking Tours full of ghost stories each Friday and Saturday starting at 8pm. Tours last between 75 and 90 minutes are $15 for adults and $13 for children age 8-12.

Another haunted trail filled with ghouls and goblins, Zombie Hollow offers a fright fest on Lewis Farm in Gastonia. Cost for adults (10 and up) is $10 and children under 10 are $5.

Carolina Renaissance Festival

The Carolina Renaissance Festival in Huntersville offers two days Halloween fun on 10/31 and 11/1. Halloween Daze and Spooky Nights includes a costume cotest, safe trick or treating at over 100 locations throughout the festival village and a Treasure Hunt with treat bags and treasure maps for the kids. In addition to the usual Festival entertainment, there is also a Knights of the Living Dead zombie jousting challenge to enjoy.

Latta Plantation

Latta Plantation transforms into a gloomy haunted site with their Ghost Walk Haunted Trail, both 10/23 and 10/24 from 7:00 until 10:00pm. Wind through the dark forest, through the barn and enter the haunted house for a good scare. Admission is $10 per person and not suggested for children under 10.

In addition, enjoy a family filled celebration on Halloween from 10am to 2pm at the All Hallows Eve Family Day at Latta. Not too many scares, but plenty of trick-or-treating, kids games, pumpkin and face painting, storytelling, crafts, costume contests and more. Admission is $8 for adults and $7 for seniors and children 6 and over.

Daniel Stowe Boo-tanical

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont transforms into a boo-tiful Halloween celebration on 10/24 from 11am until 3pm. Live music, horse drawn carriage rides, campfires, games, punkin chunkin and plenty of fall fun for the family. Bootanical is free with general Garden admission and all children wearing costumes will receive free admission. Garden Members are admitted free.
