Wedding season is entirely upon us, and we can’t help but swoon for the styles that are rocking the aisle. Gone are the days of the plain, strapless, A-line, and here to stay are lush fabrics, interesting necklines, and delicate details.

Straps Are Back

We went directly from strapless to long-sleeved (thanks, Kate!), with little transition between. But 2016 runways brought back straps of varying thickness, from the reinvented, dainty spaghetti strap to thicker, sleeveless styles, like “Libby” by Amsale. This stunner features a silk crepe top and a tulle skirt, and is set apart by its impeccable, timeless tailoring.

Elegance from All Angles

Intricate backs are a major focus right now, and every last detail keeps all eyes on the bride, all the way down the aisle. Notice the sexy-but-covered lace placements with plunging backs, and the incredible texture being added with 3D floral details. It’s all about rich, luxurious fabrics.

Extreme Illusions

Illusions on the sleeves and neckline are still going strong, with high-contrast embellishments on barely, barely there fabrics adding an ethereal lightness to even the most traditional gown silhouettes. Lace is a popular feature on illusions, but sparkling crystals also make their appearance and are especially lovely for black-tie and winter weddings.

Next, the styling.

Gone are Rustic Weddings complete with Mason Jars, Burlap and Naked Wedding Cakes. Color and glam are making their way back into the scene. Boy Oh Boy, are we excited to see it.

Bad Girl, Bad Girl, Whatcha Gonna Do? – The Wild West

As an update to the rustic/mason jar-y feel, couples are introducing pieces inspired by the Wild West into their wedding planning inspiration. Bring On the Color – Marsala

2014 was full of muted tones and very feminine colors. 2015 is all about the color. The color of the year is a beautiful red hue called Marsala. In order to work the hue into your wedding plans, focus on bringing out fabulous and rich colors (and lots of them) throughout the wedding.

Don’t Bring Me Gifts
