Our June Find of the Month is Dish It Out Studios ~ Art Camps, Parties, Gift Making and Drop In Fun.

We’re on the hunt for fun things to do over the long, hot, school’s out summer for you and for your kids, and DISH IT OUT Pottery Painting Studios is at the top of our list.

With two locations, one in Parktowne Village (the Total Wine shopping center on Woodlawn & Park) and one in Stonecrest, these pottery and glass design & make studios are like drop-in art camp for all ages.

If you’re looking for the perfect personal, handmade gift for someone, Dish It Out should definitely be on your radar. Teachers’ Gifts and Father’s Day Presents made by the kids? Check. Birthday, Hostess, or Grad Gift made personal by you? Check.

If you don’t have an idea already in mind, not to worry. Dish It Out has hundreds of blank bisque items in stock to inspire you, and the staff is experienced at helping little and big “kids” figure out what to create.

If you’re looking for a small group get-together or an outlet for some creative energy for you or your family, look no further than Dish It Out. You can only sit through so many summer blockbuster movies or rainy day play dates, and Dish It Out offers an alternative any time of day ~ just drop in at least one hour prior to close so you and yours have time to finish your projects.

Here’s how it works: The studios are open 10:00- 8:00 [Monday- Thursday], 10:00- 9:00 [Friday- Saturday] and 1:00- 7:00 [Sunday]. It’s drop in for groups under 8 persons, making it ideal for a last minute artistic escape.  Just drop in either studio and choose your creations-to-be from the hundreds of bisque items in stock. They provide the paints and have staff members available to answer questions. Once you complete your masterpiece, Dish It Out will glaze and fire the piece for you and it will be ready for pick up within a week.

The Painted Pottery: You pay for your Pottery Piece(s), and pottery item prices range from $2.00- $50.00. In addition, you will pay $6.00 an hour/person ($12.00/ person maximum per day) for Paints, Glazing & Firing and studio supplies.

[if you want their staff to create a piece for you, you purchase the piece, pay a glazing fee and then pay $16/hour for one of our artists to paint your piece. If you want a staff member to do the lettering on your piece, you pay 25 cents per letter.]

The Mosaic Pieces: Mosaics are the only item at Dish It Out that you can create and take home with you that day, making them ideal for entertaining out-of-town guests, for last minute gifts, for birthday parties and just for those too impatient to wait a week for their pottery. Pick your mosaic project from a variety of frames and decorative plaques and choose from countless different mosaic chips. After you glue the chips onto your piece you can take it home, let it dry for 24-48 hours. Once it is dry, you use the grout kit and instruction sheet they provide to finish your creation at home.

Summer Art Camp for Kids 7 and older

Dish It Out offers summer art camps for children ages 7 and up. Your child will be introduced to a variety of forms of art, such as pottery painting, canvas painting, mosaics and more, and will work on multiple art projects each day. Dish It Out summer camps give children a hands-on approach to different forms of art and is all about self-expression, creativity and fun.

Camp will meet from 10 a.m. -1 p.m., Monday-Friday for eight weeks between June and August. Campers bring a bag lunch and drink for a mid-day break in the creativity.  Cost for camp (per week) is $199.00 and you’ll get a 2nd child in family discount to $149.00.

Pottery Painting Parties for Adults and Children

Dish It Out is a great place to celebrate your special occasions whether that’s your child’s birthday party, ladies’ night out, bridal & baby showers and office parties. When you celebrate at Dish It Out, you and your guests create your own painted pottery, mosaic or glass project along with a memorable time.
Adult Costs: $10.00 per painter + cost of pottery piece.

Adult Parties are for 16 yrs or older

Includes:

• 2 Hrs. Studio Time
• Paper Products
• Employee to help with instruction
• Materials (Paint, Brushes, etc.)
• Glazing and Firing

Child Costs: $8.00 per painter + cost of the pottery.

Child Parties are for 5 yrs to 16 yrs old.

Children’s parties are  drop off only; no more than 4 non-painting adults may stay due to space limitations in the studio.
