Looking for some family fun in the great outdoors this month? Take the short 30 minute drive to Anne Springs Close Greenway any weekend in October for the Fall Frolic Festival, and enjoy a pumpkin patch, corn maze, horse rides, hiking, kayaking and more, all in one spot.
Kicking off this Saturday, 10/1, the 7th annual Fall Frolic brings lots of family fun to the Anne Springs Close Greenway including:
- a four-acre corn maze
- a homegrown pumpkin patch
- the new Greenway petting zoo
- pedal carts
- horse rides
- wagon rides
- face painting
- kayaking
Fall Frolic on the Greenway runs Saturdays and Sundays, October 1st through October 30th. If you have not yet visited the Anne Close Springs Greenway, this is definitely the month to do so. Just miles south of Charlotte, the Greenway is a 2,100-acre natural preserve that offers hiking, camping, mountain biking trails, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing and more.
The Fall Frolic is one of the Greenway’s signature events, created to celebrate the season, the outdoors and the greater Charlotte community. The event is made possible in part by the ACSG corporate partner, Carolinas Healthcare System.
Pricing for the Fall Frolic is $10 per person for Greenway members and $12 for non-members and includes wagon rides, corn maze, petting zoo, pedal carts and other kid-focused activities. In addition:
- Seniors (60 and older) and active military personnel are $6
- Children four and under get in free.
- Groups of 15 or more receive a group rate of $10 per person.
- Lead-line horse rides and kayaking will be available at $5 per ride.
- Major credit cards and cash will be accepted at the gate.
- Special event parking is $5 per car.
You can make an entire day of it, as food trucks and beverage vendors will be on hand each weekend selling a variety of options to dine. If you go back the last Saturday of October, you can also join in their 5k or 10k SpringMaid TRAIL race.
Festivities are centered at the Greenway’s Lake Haigler Entrance, 1604 Highway 21 Bypass, Fort Mill. This event is family-friendly and is alcohol and tobacco-free. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on six-foot leashes. For information, please call 803-547-4575 or visit ASCGreenway.org.
