Dreaming of the Mountains? Here Are Our Top Asheville Cabin Rentals

Leaves changing, apples ripening, and temperatures dipping send many Charlotteans literally running for the hills… but in a good way. If you’re lucky enough to have a go-to mountain rental or, even better, a home of your own in the High Country, I envy you. A trip to the mountains for me means researching the best finds on Airbnb or VRBO with my boyfriend and hoping they’re available on short notice.

It’s been fun staying in different cabins, but we would love to find a place that we can use as our go-to mountain escape, with a great location, stunning view, the right size, and near good hiking trails and/or cycling routes. We’ve found plenty of places that tick some of our boxes, but nothing that covers everything thus far.  Cabin shopping is a hard job, but someone has to do it and we are willing and able. Scoop and I are here to lead the way to your (and my) best cabin escape yet!

Here are my picks for your next Asheville Cabin Rentals, courtesy of Romantic Asheville’s Top 50 Cabin Vacation Rentals.

Villa di Orsi

asheville cabin rentals

3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms

Situated at the peak of Old Mountain, Villa di Orsi is breathtaking inside and out. Take in the beautiful views no matter the weather thanks to the deck’s firepit and hot tub. In warmer months, there is also an outdoor kitchen (YES!) to entertain your whole gang. Because, regardless of time of year, who comes to the mountains to stay indoors? You’ll also get a Mountain Discovery Pass with your stay to optimize your time away from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine and enjoy zip lining, rafting, skiing, and the historic Biltmore House.

Truly Breathless

Blue Ridge also offers a private hot tub on the back deck and allegedly the “most luxurious sheets you will ever sleep upon”- okay, I’ll bite on that last feature!

Riverview Retreat

Just 12 miles outside of Asheville in the Hominy Valley you can enjoy the ultimate family vacation. This custom build log cabin has room for 14 comfortably. The hardest part of your visit will be deciding who of your 14 gets to try the 6 person hot tub overlooking the mountain ridge first.

Blue Wolf Lodge

$175-$250 daily

Pet-friendly with 2 master bathrooms… what’s not to love? If a rustic respite isn’t your thing and you’re hoping for a more metropolitan mountain experience, The Bunn House Hotel is within walking distance of downtown Asheville. A 1905 converted mansion now welcomes guests for overnight stays in one of the inn’s 5 well-appointed rooms. Another great option in the boutique hotel category is The Windsor with washers/dryers, full kitchen areas, and living rooms, also built in the early 1900’s with all of the charm of that era entact.
