Charlotte spring garden tours

Embrace the beauty of six different area gardens while artists capture the scenes while painting “en plein air” during this weekend-long event presented by the Charlotte Garden Club. Participating gardens include private home gardens in the Plaza Midwood, Elizabeth, Hampton Leas, Madison Park and Huntcliffe neighborhoods.

Tour hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Top off the weekend of strolling with a celebration and plain art show at Mint Museum Randolph on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Charlotte spring garden tours
Midway Maynia kicks off with a Candlelight Home and Garden Tour from 6-8 p.m. You’ll get a tour of 10 neighborhood homes and gardens and enjoy offerings from local vendors. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the tour. Other weekend events include the Midwood Miles 5K, a parade and a full live music line-up.

Mother’s Day Weekend and Wine Walk

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden

Take Mom to the gardens this year for a weekend full of the things she loves most. On both Saturday and Sunday, moms and their families can enjoy a beautiful day among the blooms with live music, mimosas, carriage rides, family activities and more. Activities will go from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The first 250 moms admitted each day will receive a free potted plant courtesy of Rountree Plantation Garden Center.

On Saturday, stroll through the gardens with a glass of wine in hand. The DSBG Wine Walk combines a wine tasting (five wines will be featured) and garden tour just in time forMother’s Day. Admission is free for mothers and garden members. Tickets are available online or by calling 704.825.1252.

Gardeners’ Garden Tour

Wing Haven Gardens & Bird Sanctuary

The Gardeners’ Garden Tour is back for its 23rd year at Wing Haven Gardens. The weekend features tours of Wing Haven, five picturesque private gardens as well as the Elizabeth Lawrence House and Gardens.  Live music at Wing Haven sets the scene for a day of garden strolling on Saturday.

Tour hours are Saturday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Sunday 1- 5 p.m. Tickets are good for both days, and are $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the tour. Learn more and start planning your visit here.

On May 21 and 22, gates to the gardens of one of Charlotte’s most historic and beautiful neighborhoods will welcome guests for tours. The Secret Gardens of Fourth Ward gives a one-of-a-kind glimpse into private gardens, courtyards, rooftop terraces and other outdoor living spaces to visitors and locals alike. Stroll the sidewalks while exploring vibrant public art, historic homes and other points of interest along the route.

Tour hours are from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. each day. Through April 30, ticket price is $15. Beginning May 1, tickets are $20 each. Purchase online, at Alexander Michael’s Restaurant & Tavern and at Park Road Books.
