What To Do This Weekend In Lake Norman

Haven’t heard of Friday Night Fights yet? It’s your chance to be social, drink beer and win prizes without putting your cell phone down. Compete against other brewery-goers in mobile games as prizes are awarded each hour, with a grand prize given for best score of the night.

Consider your Friday night family dinner planned. Your evening at the Easter edition of Food Truck Friday at Twenty-Six Acres Brewing Company starts with some fun seasonal kids activities and continues with browsing the menus of six kitchens on wheels. On the line-up for this week is BBQ Time, Dumpling Girls, Taco Green-Go and more.

Latta Easter Egg Hunt
Latta Plantation, Huntersville
10 a.m.

 

The hunt is on at Latta Plantation, where kids of all ages will participate in the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The day continues with visits with farm animals, live children’s music, arts and crafts and children’s story time. Plus, families can tour the plantation home and grounds. Register for the egg hunt online. $8 per child.

 

Bunny Run 5K
Downtown Concord
9:30 a.m.

Before indulging in Easter basket candy, lace up for the Bunny Run 5K. The route begins on Means Avenue in downtown and winds through the McEachern and Downtown Connector Greenways. A one-mile fun run is also an option. Afterwards, stick around for family fun at the Bunny Run Festival with inflatables, face painting and visits with the Easter Bunny himself.

Cooking Class – South of the Border

Looking to spice up your kitchen? Here’s your chance. Join Jessica Lutz, culinary instructor and owner of Saucy Spoon Cooking, for this hands-on “South of the border” themed cooking class. The menu includes chips and queso, Mexican street corn, Persian limp shrimp salad and dessert. $25 per person.
