Pack the beach bag for a day at Ramsey Creek Park Beach

Get into vacation mode with a day of fun in the sun at Ramsey Creek Park Beach. The county’s first public beach officially opened for the season last weekend, and there are some important changes to know before you pack the beach bag. Admission to the beach for those parking is $5 for county residents and $10 for non-residents Monday-Thursday, going up to $10 and $15 per vehicle on weekends. Walk-in admission is $5 per individual over 14, $3 for children up to age 13 and free for those five and below. To ease parking concerns, the beach has added a free shuttle that runs from Northcross Park. View the schedule and more information on the shuttle here.

Laps & Taps Craft Brewery & Speedway Tour
Cabarrus Brewing Company

First, get a behind-the-scenes look into Cabarrus Brewing Company and Twenty-Six Acres Brewing Company, then buckle up for a few laps around the Charlotte Motor Speedway Track. The day includes transportation, an expert escort, breweries tours and tastings, souvenir glasses and laps around the track. $49 per person. Purchase tickets here.
Lake Norman Summer Concert Series

Toast to the weekend at the Lake Norman Summer Concert Series taking place at D9 Brewing Company. Food truck offerings include Tiger Yakitori, A Worthy Dog and Dumpling Girls and live music will be provided by Steve Brown and the Shana Blake Band.

This Sunday marks the 58th running of the Coca-Cola 600. The fun starts with the opening of the Fan Zone at 10 a.m., and continues with a free concert from country music duo Big & Rich. Inside the speedway, Lynyrd Skynyrd performs a pre-race concert before a patriotic salute to our military heroes. The checkered flag will wave at 6:15 p.m, signaling the beginning of the 400 lap race. P.S., did we mention that Channing Tatum is serving as the Grand Marshall? Tickets start at $58.
