Boomers at LangTree Live
LangTree Lake Norman, Mooresville | 5 p.m.

The fun starts at LangTree with a DJ, drink specials and food, and continues with live music from the Boomers.

 

Summit Coffee Songwriters Showcase
Summit Coffee, Davidson | 8 p.m.

Watch as talented songwriters take the stage at Summit Coffee. Artists include BK Keedy, Michael Jerling and Heather Kenny.

The Waterfront Music Fest 
Queens Landing Marina Lake Norman, Mooresville | September 15-17

What To Do This Weekend Around Lake Norman

Hit the lake for three days of jazz, blues and beach music. At the Waterfront Music Fest, many well-known artists will take the main stage, while you take to the water with sightseeing cruises available each day. Live music will be provided on board. Concert prices start at $15.

 

FRIDAY

Jones Von Drehle Vineyard Dinner
Lake Norman Cottage, Davidson | 6:30 p.m.

What To Do This Weekend Around Lake Norman

Diana Jones, owner of Jones Von Drehle Vineyards and Winery, leads this three-course tasting menu featuring two curated wine pairings with each course. Wines will also be available for purchase. $28 per person plus tax and gratuity.

 

Mud at the Mill Opening Reception
Cornelius Arts Center, Cornelius | 6 p.m.

Help welcome this collaborative exhibition with Carolina Clay Matters, Inc. Ceramics Guild, on display through October 26, to the Cornelius Arts Center. Admire pottery created by 30 local ceramic artists and shop affordable pottery for sale.

 

Jettison Five 
Galway Hooker Irish Pub, Cornelius | 6 p.m.

Kick off the weekend with live music from Jettison Five Duo. They’ll be taking the stage at 6 p.m.

 

SATURDAY

Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival
Oak Street Mill, Cornelius | 2-8 p.m.

Tawba Walk is back with a day full of live music taking over two stages, over 80 vendors, multiple food truck courts, craft breweries, sidewalk sales and kids activities.

 

Lake Norman Wildlife Oyster & Shrimp Festival
LangTree Lake Norman, Mooresville | 5-10 p.m.

Help the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists celebrate their 10th anniversary with a night of great food, beer and wine, live music and supporting the organization’s mission to protect and enhance the natural resources and wildlife habitats of the greater Lake Norman area.

 

Quidditch Day at the Amazing Maize Maze
Rural Hill, Huntersville | 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Come muggles, wizards, half-bloods, and squibs alike. Watch as the The Charlotte Quidditch at UNCC takes on UNCG Quidditch in an exhilarating exhibition match, then try it out for yourself. After hitting the maze, sip on a brew from Thirsty Nomad Brewing. Adult Day Maze Tickets are $11, Child Day Maze Tickets are $8.

 

Run For Green Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k
Davidson Town Green | 7:30 a.m.

Lace up for the 12th annual Run for Green and opt for the half-marathon, 10K or 5K courses. The Run for Green benefits the Davidson Lands Conservancy and their efforts protect natural areas, open spaces, and greenways/trails.

 

Wurst Anniversary Party Ever
Cork and Cask, Cornelius | 2 p.m.

Help Cork and Cask toast to four years with pumpkin beer kegs, Oktoberfest-style Marzen kegs, staff and customer favorites and a menu full of festive grub.

 

Yacht Yoga for a Cause
Luxury Yacht Charters, Cornelius | 8:30 a.m.

Find your zen atop the deck of Lake Norman’s newest and largest yacht, the Carolina Grace. Proceeds from the class benefit Piedmont Animal Rescue.

 

City Barbeque Grand Opening
15425 Hodges Circle, Huntersville | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

City’s Barbeque’s newest location will celebrate its grand opening with samples of meats, sides and desserts (their banana pudding was named one of the top ten in America by Paula Deen Magazine!). Sir Purr and the Carolina Panthers’ PurrCussion will even join in the party. 10% of proceeds support the Lotta Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to help reduce the negative impact poverty and sickness brings both adults and children in our community.

 

 

SUNDAY

Concerts on the Green: Davidson College Symphony & Jazz Ensemble
Davidson Village Green | 6 p.m.

Pack your picnics and lawn chairs and settle into your spot on the green. The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra, an ensemble of 50 student musicians, will take the stage at the next Concerts on the Green. Free admission.

 

Brahms and Dvořák
Davidson College Music Department | 3 p.m.

Round out your weekend with an afternoon of Brahms performed by local musicians. Reception to follow the performance.
