Monday, Oct 16
The Raptor Trail, all day
Carolina Raptor Center, (Huntersville), 12 adults/ kids under 3 free
This is one of the last Mondays to enjoy the outdoor trials and exhibits at Carolina Raptor Center before they switch to their winter hours. Lets the kids run and roam the many easy-to-navigate paths with a feathered around most corners. Ask for the daily program when you buy tickets to see who many be taking flight in a show.

Tuesday, Oct. 17
Story Time and More, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Winghaven Gardens, $10
Join Rutherford Rabbit and enjoy a seasonally themed story and a take-home craft activity in the Children’s Garden. Kids can water the vegetable plants, dig for worms, explore the sensory and butterfly gardens, and checkout the chickens. Registration recommended.

Wednesday, Oct. 18
Mini-Masters Art Workshop: Red Yellow Blue, 1:30 – 2:45
Mint Museum Randolph,  $16
Little artists and their adult companions explore the museum galleries and create art in this playful class centered on creativity, fine-motor skills, and confidence-building. Explore different media and try out new art-making techniques in each class, including drawing, painting, cutting, and constructing. Go on a color hunt in the Italian Renaissance gallery, and experiment with mixing paints to create a colorful masterpiece of your own!

Thursday, Oct. 19
York County’s Teen Science Cafe, 5:00 p.m.
Museum of York County, Rock Hill
The Teen Science Café experience is organized by teens for teens who create a comfortable environment for engaging socially during a science-themed event. The evening features food, icebreakers, a research lecture and Q&A by a featured scientist, interactive components and cool door prizes!

Friday, Oct. 20
Spooktacular Family Fall Fun, 6:00 p.m.
Bit of Hope Ranch (Gastonia), $7 per person/$25 per car
Bring the family out for lots of outdoor fun including a playground, giant jump pillow, face painting and hot dog bar. Don’t miss “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” production or the Spookfari trail and pony rides.

Saturday, Oct. 21
Good Day, Good Night Storytime, 11: 00 a.m.
Barnes and Noble, Morrison Place
In this previously unpublished children’s book by author Margaret Wise Brown, follow the story of a little bunny and see if you can spot hidden details on the pages. Related activities follow after storytime.

Sunday, Oct. 22
Natural Happenings: Birds of Prey, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
McDowell Nature Center
Join a naturalist for nature activities including animal encounters, a family hike, scavenger hunt, crafts and more. Dress for the weather and bring your sense of adventure (just FYI, that’s what we do at Scoop every day).
