The smell of fresh Virginian pine or North Carolina cedar wafting through the living room makes me think the Christmas carol should be renamed, “It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas”.
Nothing transports me to Christmas past like the smell of live trees and garland-wound bannisters. However, I do agree (of course, I’m partial) that “the prettiest sight to see, is the holly that will be on your own front door,” as the carol claims. Where to get that holly – the trees – the live greenery is the tricky part because you want it to be fresh and last throughout the holidays, but trekking to the mountains for choose & cut may not fit in your schedule. {But if it does, here are our 14 picks on Where To Harvest Your Own Live Tree This Year.}
Some of our favorite spots are also fundraising with every tree sold, since ’tis the season to give, why not ensure you’re supporting a good cause while decking your halls?
Here are a few local options to help you get your home looking and, more importantly, smelling like the holidays. These are just a few of the spots we know & love, please help us by commenting below with your favorite that we missed!
