From the picturesque skyline to the vibrant street art and charming pocket parks there’s certainly no shortage of beautiful places and eye-catching backgrounds to photograph around the city if you’re looking to get that perfect Insta shot. We went to the experts to find out where some of Charlotte’s top photographers suggest going to snag that Insta-worthy photo.

Camp North End
This newly reopened space is now a vibrant mixed-use facility offering beaucoups of bright colors and personality with a large collection of historic buildings and a water tower. Be sure to check out their Friday night concert series which runs into the fall.
UNCC Botanical Gardens
Free to the public, you can browse the gardens for beautiful botanical photo options year round—especially with the recent addition of the Mellichamp Terrace, a NC native plants garden.

NoDa neighborhood
I love bringing out-of-town guests to artsy NoDa. I’m a huge lover of color, and around every corner is another spectrum to adore. I love that just about every time I visit there is a new mural to ponder (and photograph!).
Amelie’s French Bakery
When I first started growing my Instagram, the first photo I that went ‘viral’ was of macarons at Amelie’s, so these little dessert sandwiches hold a special place in my heart! All of the desserts are stunning, and you can get the same quirky French vibe at any of their locations throughout the Queen City.
Charlotte Regional Farmers Market
“Excuse me, do you mind if I photograph your strawberries?” I will forever be the woman at the Farmers Market taking photos of all the fresh goodies. Tell me I’m not the only one! Plus, the best place to grab a $10 bouquet is at the local farmer’s market — hands down.
Dot Dot Dot
My new favorite spot for drinks is Dot Dot Dot. I am obsessed with the sophisticated speakeasy vibe, the art deco decor and the craft cocktails, of course. Get the Pepper le Pew. Don’t forget to Instagram your drink!

Merchant & Trade
As one of the city’s newest watering holes, Merchant & Trade has quickly become a go-to when it comes to grabbing a drink after work and hanging out on the weekend when the weather’s nice. Located on the 19th floor of the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, the bar offers guests a bird’s eye view of the city below and the perfect opportunity for an interesting cityscape photo — and drinks, of course.
Romare Bearden Park
The park’s lush green grass, towering skyscrapers, and colorful fountains all provide an amazing backdrop for just about any kind of photo and because it’s an open space you don’t have to worry about too many shadows ruining your pic.
The Green
Slightly hidden away off Tryon St., The Green is a pretty little oasis that’s a welcomed relief from the hustle and bustle of Uptown. One of it’s most photographed features is the popular Charlotte navigation sign, but there are plenty of other photogenic……spread throughout the pocket park. The vintage Ratcliffe’s Flower sign that sits at the entrance of The Green provides another photo op and right across the street is the gawdy Firebird statute that will catch just about anyone’s attention.
U.S. National Whitewater Center
While the U.S. National Whitewater Center is a short drive out of town, it’s completely worth the effort to get there if you’re looking for somewhere to spend the entire day outside taking pictures. Though everyone who’s ever lived in Charlotte has more than likely taken a photo there before, it never gets stale, because there’s so much to take photos of around the entire property, so no photo ever looks the exact same.
