Rosemont Bar – Open now
The closing of Wu’s Cajun Seafood made room for Rosemont, a classic bar serving up bar bites, fried favorites and fun drinks including “Frozemont” slushees, adult Capri Suns and spiked milkshakes. View the menu here. Expect live music and happy hour specials.
Undercurrent Coffee – Open now
2012 Commonwealth Avenue
Founder and Owner Todd Huber has opened Undercurrent Coffee, a cafe and educational lab, in Plaza Midwood. Expect options featuring local and regional coffee partners and cold brews on tap. Undercurrent also serves pastries, breakfast bowls, toasts and salads for breakfast and lunch, sourcing seasonal ingredients from local farms and purveyors.
Bulla Gastrobar – Opening soon
4310 Sharon Rd., Suite W01.
Bulla Gastrobar, known for its traditional Spanish tapas and creative cocktails, is set to open this month in SouthPark. Expect a classic Spanish gastrobar feel and authentic dishes with modern touches like cured meats from Spain, Gambas Al Ajillo with sautéed shrimp, garlic and guindilla, Serrano ham croquettes and fig jelly and paella.
Whole Foods Uptown – Opening June 13
400 E. Stonewall St.
The much-anticipated Whole Foods Market Uptown will open in the new Stonewall Station development in June 13. The location will feature a wine and beer bar, Genji sushi station, pizza bar, coffee bar and signature prepared food options.
Gusto Farm to Street – Opening soon
4400 Sharon Rd.
Gusto Farm to Street will soon be serving chef-created or custom crafted fast-fired pizzas and fresh salads in SouthPark mall. Be one of the first to taste the menu at their street celebration on June 10, where they will be offering free lunch 1-3:30 p.m. and donating to Friendship Gardens.
Brewers at 4001 Yancey – Opening soon
4001 Yancey Road
This joint craft beer venture from Southern Tier and Victory Brewing is on pace to open soon. Expect new offerings from both beer brands, a massive taproom and expansive outdoor area.
Georges Brasserie – Closed
This beloved Piedmont Row favorite served their final brunch over Memorial Day weekend, the Giorgios Hospitality Group confirmed in a statement.
Suki Akor – Closed
The Japanese steak and sushi restaurant in the new Embassy Suites Hotel in Uptown closed suddenly after opening in March.
Lumiere – Closed
A Myers Park go-to has also shuttered its doors. Chef Tom Condron confirmed in a Facebook post that Lumiere French Kitchen has closed after five years.
Davidson Street Public House – Closed
This NoDa spot for craft beer, cocktails and live jazz has closed.

New menus and specials at Upstream from Executive Chef/Partner Gene Kato
