Going to a vintage market or antique fair can often feel like you’re on a treasure hunt — you never know what you might find or stumble upon while shopping. There’s always the chance you could find a diamond in the rough or the perfect piece to add to your home. So whether you have an affinity for using vintage pieces as decor or just like the thrill of the hunt, there are several vintage markets and antique shows happening this fall around the state that you’ll enjoy. Here are a few of our favorites:
September 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30
Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Location: 1025 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607
Ranked as one of the top 10 flea markets in the country by CNN, the Raleigh Flea Market can’t be missed. Opened since 1971, the popular flea market draws over two million visitors each year — according to the Triangle Business Journal — and boasts over 600 vendors each weekend with plenty of merchandise to choose from. At the market shoppers can expect to find anything from one-of-a-kind items to housewares and collectables. Admission and parking are free.
September 8, October 14
Hours: noon – 4 p.m.
Location: 100 W. Chatham St., Cary, NC
On the second Sunday of every month the charming downtown area of Cary, NC turns into a vintage shopper’s paradise during the Downtown Cary Food & Flea, where there’s always a large assortment of arts and crafts, vintage items, and antiques to sort through. There will also be food vendors on site and live music to enjoy. There is no admission fee.
September 15 & October 20
Hours: noon – 5 p.m.
Location: 656 Maywood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603
Plan a road trip to the capital city for the popular Pop-Up Raleigh Fall Market, which always draws big crowds with its impressive selection of merchandise and booths. Vendors at Pop-Up Raleigh carry everything from vintage cameras and luggage to shabby chic furniture and accessories. As an added bonus the event takes place at Trophy Brewing & Taproom, so there’ll be plenty of craft brews as well as food trunks on site. There is no admission fee.
Vintage Market Days of Charlotte
September 21 – 23
Hours: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: 800 Briar Creek Rd. Charlotte, NC 28205
Charlotteans won’t have to go far to spend the day shopping for vintage finds and handmade goods during Vintage Market Days of Charlotte. The three-day event, which takes place at The Park Expo & Conference Center, features a wide variety of vendors who sell everything from home decor and outdoor furnishings to handcrafted jewelry and antiques. This year’s event will have over 100 vendors from over 10 states. General admission tickets are $5.
September 28 & 29
Hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: 2855 Pike Farm Rd., Staley, NC 27355
Antique lovers can peruse merchandise from over 400 dealers at the Liberty Antiques Festival that’s held on the 100-acre Pike Family Farm in Staley, NC. Typical antiques that can be found include 18th to 20th century furniture, pottery, glass, clocks, dolls, vintage toys, military items, advertising memorabilia, quilts, and even folk art. Tickets are $7 and children ages 12 and under are free.
September 30, October 28
Hours: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: 800 Brevard Rd.,Asheville, NC 28806
More than 100 vendors will be on site at the Asheville Fall Flea For Y’all, selling goods like sports memorabilia, jewelry pieces, original art, and industrial decor. Admission is $2 and parking is free. The event is dog-friendly.
Cameron Fall Antiques Street Fair
October 5-6
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Take Hwy. 24/27 all the way to Cameron’s Carthage St.
As the home to 12 antique shops, the small town of Cameron, NC is well known for its upscale and vintage finds. Add in 250 more vendors to those shops and you’ve got one exciting weekend full of antiques during the annual Cameron Fall Antiques Street Fair. Visitors come from near and far every year to Cameron to see what treasures they will find. There is no admission fee.
