Things to Do with Family this Week ~ 9/20

We focused on end-of-week activities for this update, in an effort to avoid Hurricane Florence’s impact.  Still… please make sure to confirm before showing up to any of this week’s events.

Mountain Bike Demo Day
U.S. National Whitewater Center

Check out the latest and greatest mountain bikes from Specialized and Santa Cruz. Various models and sizes will be available for you to take out on the USNWC’s trail system.

Cirque Italia
Northlake Mall

Cirque Italia, the first traveling Water Circus, presents a new a luxurious experience where technology and performing arts are mixed to create a one-of-a-kind show suitable for all ages.

Movies on Main
Town Hall Lawn

Mooresville Parks and Recreation presents Movies on Main,  movies show on the Town Hall lawn in Downtown Mooresville. Movies start at dark, and concessions are available for purchase.

Grand Re-opening for Mint Museum Uptown: Perspective & Mint to Move

Experience the grand reopening of the Mint Museum Uptown with performances of ‘Perspective,’ a new vertical aerial dance by Caroline Calouche & Co., performed outside on the façade of the Mint (on the hour starting at 5:00 p.m.), a free viewing of the new art show MAINFRAME, and free access to the Mint’s galleries from 6:00 -9:00 p.m.

A Mint to Move Cultural Dance Night runs from 7:00 -11:30 p.m., celebrating Latin American Heritage Month. And, there’s more fun to be had on Saturday, with a free community day.

Food, carnival rides, inflatables and live entertainment. Special Needs Fun Day held Fri., Sept. 21 from 1-3pm. Other hours are: Fri., 5-11pm; Sat., 11am-11pm.

Ghost Train
Tweetsie Railroad

It’s safe, scary fun for the whole family. Kids will enjoy the Halloween shows and trick-or-treating. Take a chilling journey into the night on the Ghost Train- if you dare. Advance tickets required.

8th Annual Stiletto Sprint
Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall

Sprinters can register as a competitive sprinter, non-competitive sprinter, volunteer, or Ruby Red Slipper, a category created for kids ages 12 and younger.

Don’t miss the TINY children’s boutique Back To School celebration rescheduled for Saturday, September 22 from 1 pm to 4 pm ~ there will be ice cream, a balloon artist and special guests like Sir Purr (NOTE 1-1:30 ONLY!!) and ELMO to entertain while you shop

Museum Day Live at Carolina’s Aviation Museum
