In late February, 100 couples sponsored quite a party, known as the Jeans, Genes, & Geniuses evening at the Terrace at Cedar Hill to support the 6th annual Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Conference.
This conference is hosted by the Carolinas Medical Center with support from the Carolinas MD Research Fund and the Atrium Health Foundation. The McColl-Lockwood Laboratory for Muscular Dystrophy Research focuses on developing novel therapies for muscular dystrophy, specifically limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD) and Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). As the party name explains, Jeans, Genes, & Geniuses is a night to wear you best denim and celebrate with friends the milestones of the laboratory and research advances. It was, as always, a wonderful evening:
