The Habit Burger – Opening in Midtown May 2

The Habit Burger Grill, Winner of USA Today’s 10 Best America’s Best Fast Food, will open its first North Carolina location in Midtown on May 2 at 10:30 a.m. In addition to a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Charlotte Business Council, the first 50 guests in line will receive free Charburgers for a year.

Pepperbox Doughnuts – Coming soon to South End’s Design Center

Pepperbox Doughnuts will open their first brick and mortar shop in the Design Center of the Carolinas. Find them across the alley from Jeni’s.

Sensi – Open now in South Charlotte

Experience the authentic flavors and aromas of traditional Italian fare at Sensi, a new concept led by Michelin-starred chef Luigi Nastri, coming to Rea Farms in South Charlotte. Find them at 9825 Sandy Rock Place.

Papa Doc’s Shore Club – Open on Lake Wylie

Operating in the former T-Bones location, seafood spot Papa Doc’s Shore Club is now in a soft opening phase on Lake Wylie. Expect indoor and outdoor dining, a spacious patio, and menu favorites including lobster rolls, a steamed seafood tower, char-grilled oysters, sandwiches and more. They’ll also have frozen daiquiris, tiki-inspired cocktails and sharable punch bowls.

Swirl Bakery – Opening soon in East Charlotte

Celestial Cakery owner Ella Stone will expand her dessert business with a full-service bakery set to open this spring. At Swirl, expect around a dozen unique desserts and pastries,“insta-cakes” in various flavors and designs, a menu of both signature cupcakes and “DIY” cupcakes that allow guests to customize their order, as well as gluten-free and vegan desserts. Once open, Swirl’s hours will be Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Find them soon at 1640 Oakhurst Commons Drive, Suite 103.

Inishmore – Opening Soon on East Blvd.

Following the closing of The Rogue, the owners of Murphy’s Kitchen & Tap are looking to bring a neighborhood pub to Dilworth’s East Boulevard. The restaurant and bar, named for an island off the western coast of Ireland, will serve culinary dishes and spirits sourced locally and abroad.

Closings:

Turnhouse Grille in Montford Park/Myers Park shuttered its doors on April 30 after three years in business.
