Come for the wine, stay for the food.
In 2015, owner and master sommelier Laura Maniec brought her New York wine bar concept to the SouthPark neighborhood.
And while Corkbuzz has an impressive wine line-up, things are equally as amazing in the kitchen. Executive Chef Anthony Salvato has crafted a small but extremely tasty menu to complement the wine, beer, and cocktail selection.
“I love cooking in the fall/winter months,” said Chef Salvato. “I’m inspired by comfort food this time of year; braised meats, pastas… Dishes that remind you of those warm, hearty meals shared at the family dinner table during the holiday season.”
Corkbuzz brings elevated flavors in a comfortable, relaxed environment. While it’s anything but stuffy, consider dining next door at The Cellar @ Corkbuzz for a more casual vibe. You’ll find small plates and bottle after bottle of wine available for purchase. And the great news is that lunch service starts at noon (especially handy if you’re looking for a weekday wine pick-me-up.)
Corkbuzz does a wonderful job of getting their guests out of their comfort zones. They offer weekly wine classes (like Blind Tastings or Tour of Spain) plus wine maker dinners with master somms. You can find the upcoming schedule and purchase your tickets here.
We visited Corkbuzz on the day of the seasonal menu launch and enjoyed plenty of fall flavors. Check it out.
The Corkbuzz 75 is a classic (Tito’s, Bugey-Cerdon Rosé, mint, lime) but the El Fuego is a hot new addition to the cocktail menu (Lunazul Añejo Tequila, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, elderflower liqueur, honey, lemon, Scrappy’s Firewater Bitters, angostura.) It’s spicy!
This crispy Flatbread is topped with roasted butternut squash, caramelized onions, fennel sausage, goat cheese, and balsamic. Helloooo, fall.
What’s inside this Wild Mushroom Arancini? Whipped goat cheese and truffle oil, of course. Good luck eating just one.
Almost too pretty to eat. The Scallops were paired with roasted beets, goat cheese risotto, blood orange beurre-blanc, and beet chips. How beautiful are those colors?
A French classic and packed full of flavor. This Coq Au Vin featured braised chicken thigh, roasted root vegetables, cauliflower puree, and natural jus.
Corkbuzz elevated their popular ricotta doughnuts by adding pumpkin for the season. The Pumpkin Ricotta Doughnuts are topped with pumpkin spiced sugar and are obviously a must-order.
