#GetFitCLT – Charlotte Fitness Events in November

There’s no more denying winter is coming with colder weather planted squarely over the Carolinas last week. And while I’ll miss an extended Summer, I’m also ready for all the fun that Fall brings. Most of that fun is food-centric, admittedly, so I’m also excited to fuel my pumpkin pie penchant with plenty of Fall fitness and Autumn activity. Check out our picks for the best of November!

4 Weeks for $45 at VIBE5 Yoga & Fitness

With a staff that’s committed to teaching and perfecting the basics of yoga, this deal is great for newbie yogis. Those with more experience will also appreciate the level of detail VIBE5 instructors bring to their classes. The “Fitness” part of their name means they also offer strength and bootcamp-style classes too! This month, VIBE5 will offer private “Yoga for Cancer” sessions with Chloe Bryce. Chloe received her training from Duke Integrative Medicine in Yoga for Cancer and is able to lead patients and those recovering through appropriate postures, breath work, meditation, and necessary coping skills. But most importantly, she can hold space for those fighting this terrible disease through her own experience with it. Call the studio to schedule (704.362.3311).

Barry’s is now OPEN in Atherton

The 31st Annual Charlotte Turkey Trot

Have y’all seen the memes with images of people doing (FUN) fitness things and something along the lines of “Imagine you meet the love of your live and they do 5K’s on holidays”… or something like that. THAT IS MY DREAM. Join your fellow fitness crazies in South Park on Thanksgiving morning for the 31st Annual Turkey Trot. This event is a Charlotte tradition and mainstay (it’s literally as old as I am) for a reason- it’s very well-done with a great course and a lot of holiday spirit.

Hot off the Presses

Atlanta based Sculpthouse acquires HSM CORE Lagree Megaformer studio

HSM Core will become SculptHouse December 1, 2019. SculptHouse is based in Atlanta with locations in Atlanta, Dallas, and Nashville. SculptHouse Charlotte will be closed for renovations and instructor training during the month of December and will reopen in January 2020.
SculptHouse is owned by native Charlottean, Katherine Mason. “We’ve had offers over the years to purchase our Megaformer studios but Katherine is the only person we have considered. We love that she is another independent woman in business, that she grew up in Charlotte (Katherine and Clary went to the same high school), that she takes great care of her clients, trainers and staff, and that her workout is kicking!” says owner Liz Hilliard.

The Hilliards maintain ownership of their flagship concept and sister studio, Hilliard Studio Method in Myers Park.
