You don’t have to have a ticket to watch the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day parade, since there’s general public, non-ticketed, first come, first served seating along sections of Tryon Street. With crowds of up to 100,000 though, the best bet and the best views will be in the ticketed VIP seats. These are in the two “front rows” of seats along the route, and are not obstructed by standing attendees. VIP Seats can be purchased through the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade App or on Carolina Tix.

This year, former Carolina Panther and Charlottean Jonathan Stewart will serve as Grand Marshal. The parade will feature eight larger-than-life balloons—including a 50-foot-long version of beloved The Muppet Showcharacter Animal —an all-star youth cheerleading ensemble, 12 marching bands, performances from regionally- and nationally known musicians and bands, dazzling community floats and as always, the parade will conclude with the arrival of Santa Claus.

You may purchase seats in any section you’d like with availability; each section consists of two general admission rows. While your ticket does reserve you a seat in your section, there are no reserved seat #’s , so once you’ve bought seats in that particular section, you may sit in any available seat. The reserved ticket box office opens at 7:00 a.m. on parade day, and seats will be available then, so you can head over and choose your seats in your section any time after 7 am.
